Hey There!

It's 8:12 AM EDT, 69°F, Humidity 86%, Wind 9 mph S, overcast

It rained overnight. I should have spread the grass seed I bought yesterday.

Yesterday I got up and, instead of my usual morning routine, I made coffee, had a quick breakfast of peanut butter on a cinnamon raisin bagel and peach yogurt, collected the garbage and brought it to the sidewalk, headed off for a round of golf. I started off in the Leaf, thinking it had enough juice, but when I got a few miles it started blinking on me, so I went back for the Venza. I still made the round on time. The day was pretty nice but windy to start. I felt I played well, but I have lately been cursed with the "just missed"syndrome, as I am missing a lot of putts by a half inch or less, and they don't drop in. Neither of us parred any hole, but it's always a good time being out there.

I arrived home a little sore, and the soreness is piling up a bit from the last two days. I got myself cleaned up, did some research for my scheduled interview, and did the interview itself at 1PM. I had some leftover chicken meatballs for lunch - still pretty tasty.

Now at this point I had scheduled myself to head up to the campsite and re-configure my solar arrangement and clean the motor home. However, my soreness and achy muscles were telling me otherwise. I am at that point where the decision to push them further is balanced by letting them recover. So I made the call to let myself rest up a bit and not push too hard.

I went out to Home Depot and bought some grass seed and some 9V batteries to replace in the upstairs smoke detector. I was going to spread the grass seed out, but again, decided to wait another day (not a good choice as noted above).

For some reason, I thought about the #Blaugust event I participated in, so I went over to the moderator's website, and discovered I had won a Rainbows and Diamonds award for having made 31 blog entries in August. Now, I didn't really participate in the event as I should have. The event seems to be centered within a specific community of gamers, and has branched out from there. The founder of the event has passed away, and these people are trying to keep the event alive. I didn't follow any prompts, invite anyone else to blog on this site, didn't pick up on any themes, or produce any other content other than what this blog usually produces - the events of the day before. But I did make 31 posts, along with 47 other bloggers, and so was eligible for the award. I'll post my two badges below. I probably will not do it again, as I think I am not participating within the spirit of the event. I'm just meeting the technical requirements, and really producing nothing of interest to younger gamers. If you're a gamer in your late 20s or 30s, the daily events of an old man can hardly be interesting.

When DW came home from her hair appointment (with new curls!), we decided to eat out. At first we tried to get chicken dinners from the Rotary Club Chicken BBQ, but by the time I got there they were packing up. So we went to our local burger shack. I had the 1/4 smoked chicken BBQ dinner, while DW went for chicken fingers and fries.

After we returned home, we settled in for the evening. I tuned into my baseball game - another win - while DW checked out her shows. I sort of keep the game on in the background these days while I maybe skim the web or watch a video. At the end of the evening I found myself watching golf swing videos, as it occurred to me that maybe I can get some tips on swinging the club better from the videos. I think I did gain a few tips that I might try next week - if I can remember them, that is! Bedtime was early due to fatigue at 10:35 PM.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
