Hey There!
Well, it's been something of a stressful day, but looking at the big picture, it's really not so bad.
The city workers picked up the brush at 7:30 AM, with their machinery waking up the neighborhood, especially the reverse beep warning on their tractor. I was pleased to see that the workers did not have to pick up any of the thorn briers with their hands. The payloader just grabbed them claw-like and dumped them into the truck. Good deal.
I had two interviews to record today. One interview was a piece of cake. The other was like pulling teeth. He is an older gentleman who has never been interviewed in a media format before, and he didn't quite seem to understand how an interview works (ask question/answer question). So I think I am going to have to dub my questions in during post, which is extra work. Ah well.
The stress came when trying to activate Son1's new phone. The first thing that went wrong was that the phone was delivered to the wrong address - it went next door. We were finally able to figure that out once we saw the picture the FedEx driver took. He retrieved the phone, but then we got stuck in the endless loop of 2-Step verification. Apple kept wanting him to get a text to his phone number, but since he didn't have a working phone, his phone # was unreachable. I will spare you the gory details, but getting a 2FA code when you don't have your listed phone number working and getting an email is not a choice is pretty daunting. We finally got a verification code through his iPad Mini, and that allowed him to get to the Apple Store, download his provider's app, and activate his new phone. A torture test in technology, to be sure.
Son2's new GF wants to meet DW, so we're arranging some kind of dinner scenario. He lives about 2 hours away, so we're determining who travels where. I hope they come to us.
Pennant races are heating up, and while I think my team will make the playoffs, I do not think they will get too far. But I am always excited during playoff baseball regardless, and am looking forward to October games.
The weather has been fantastic! I am hoping it will last long enough past this weekend for one camping trip. Long-range forecasts seem to bear that up, but camping is a gamble with me, as it tends to rain whenever I make plans. If I can just get good weather to last for the next 10-15 days, I should be good to squeeze one last camp in. Then I will be happy to button everything up.
