Hey There!

It's 11:17 AM EDT, 65°F, Humidity 43%, Wind 16 mph S, sunny

I am just getting back from my Wednesday morning round of golf. Although windy, it was a nice day to be out. No pars, but came very close twice, and I really got into one drive off the tee for long yardage.

Yesterday was a calm and easy day. I did manage to get out for a walk yesterday morning for the first time in quite some time. I kept it short by staying within the park boundaries, so about 1.27 miles in 25 minutes. I do have something going on in my right hip and lower back, which I did not aggravate further this morning, but it's still letting me know it's there. I am not sure of the cause, and it's more of a nagging injury that anything else, but another sign of the small pains that come along with age.

I went ahead yesterday and completely shut down and uninstalled my old Wordpress website. With my new domain name up and running, I just set a re-direct from the old site to the new with no further explanations. If you type in my old site, you'll just be brought immediately to my new site, where my name appears on the top. Shouldn't be any issues. It's not like I get a lot of traffic as it is. I'm like plankton in the sea when it comes to my web presence.

I took a late shower, and I was intending on just sitting down for the day, as I had nothing scheduled, but ultimately I decided to go up to the campsite and do two chores. One was swapping my RV house battery to the new one I just recently bought, and the other was shutting off the refrigerator in the cabin. Everything went off like a charm, and everything was set up well. I do believe I now have a very workable and efficient setup, and perhaps that might mean not selling the place for another couple of years. If all the maintenance I have to do is mow the lawn, that's OK and within my ability. One more massive cleanup and I can call it good.

When I got back home, I really wanted to write a post for my pubic blog, but I wanted to include a short movie clip I have of standing in the headwaters of the Mississippi River. I pulled out a couple of my backup drives, but could not find the clip right away. So I put that aside and went about updating all my Linux computers.

That took me to game time for the Dodgers vrs. the Braves. I have decided that I want the Dodgers to win because I cannot stand the smug Southern racist chop that the fans of Atlanta use. And I like Freddie Freeman. And I like watching Yamamoto pitch. And the Dodgers won 3-1. Good deal.

Dinner was some sort of vegetarian soup with cannellini beans that I did not care for, but of course I ate my share and did not complain. Or tease. I finished watching the Dodgers-Braves and then tuned in for the Brewers-Padres game, as the Padres staved off elimination 4-3. I did not stay up for the whole game, however.

I did spent some time browsing the small web while keeping an eye on the game. I think browsing the small web may be a good substitute for going down YouTube rabbit holes. At least I am reading, and there is some fascinating stuff out there if you check out Ye Olde Blog Roll and Kagi Small Web. I didn't find anything I wanted to subscribe to, but regardless there is still some fascinating one-off reading to be had.

I had cleaned the kitchen between ball games, so bedtime was about 11:15 PM.

Notable deaths: Eva Marie Saint, luminous beauty and talented actress from On The Waterfront and North By Northwest, 102.

Freddie Jackson, chart-topping R&B singer, 69.

Sam "Sudden Sam" McDowell, strikeout artist who pitched for Cleveland, New York Yankees, and other teams, and who overcame alcohol addiction, 84.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
