Hey There!

It's 8:14 AM EDT, 38°F, Humidity 64%, Wind 1 mph SE, clear

It's a frosty morning, the first morning I have seen frost on the lawns. The sun glittering off the frost is quite lovely.

Yesterday DW and I got up, got cleaned up, packed up, and left the hotel around 10:15 AM. We dawdled a bit to kill time, as neither of us really wanted breakfast, and we knew we were having lunch at noon. The coffee I had in the morning was not good. Maybe I could have ordered a pot of coffee from room service, but I didn't want to spend the money. So it goes.

I had my audiologist appointment at 11 AM, and this last adjustment is a killer. I can hear too much now, but I have to take the time to get adjusted to the final settings. They are very loud. If I adjust them two points lower it's better, but my full prescription makes everything so loud.

When we had lunch for Son2's birthday, the conversation was very loud, almost oppressive. The lunch was enjoyable, but the amount of sound was so much I had a hard time being comfortable.

After lunch Son2 took us to his office, where his co-workers had posted xeroxed pictures of him all against his wall. Then they brought in a cookie cake and we sort of sang Happy Birthday. He has a nice collection of co-workers, mostly women, and they all get along well. In a world where finding a job you like is hard, he seems to have succeeded. But I still believe he's a bit overworked between job and studio.

We made the two-hour drive home quietly. The leaves are slightly past peak, but I did notice that the direction of the light was giving some of the gold leaves an extra level of gorgeous. I can't help but believe that the angle of the sun is coordinated with the colors, and help to create an even more beautiful scene. There was a traffic tie-up just past Big City, so I had to take local roads the second half of the drive. Why is there always one person on the local single lane roads who pokes along at 5 miles under the limit?

When we got home, I unpacked the car and promptly took a nap. When I woke up, I spent some time getting ready for the next three days before I have to go back again over this coming weekend. Son2 will be at a wedding and I am teaching both his class and mine.

Dinner was leftover beef barley soup from the freezer, while DW made herself a sandwich. I spent the evening watching Ip Man 4, the last of the series. I've now seen all 4 Ip Man films, and they were all great. Martial arts movies are a favorite of mine, as well as wuxia movies. When the movie was over I cleaned up the kitchen and headed for bed around 11:10 PM.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
