Hey There! It's 7:59 AM EST

Yesterday wasn't the best of days.It was one of those days where you begin to sense that your life is one where everything is starting to go downhill.

The morning went well enough. Our cleaning helper came and did her usual routine, cleaning those parts of the house we can't do on a daily basis. She's usually here for two hours. I went through my morning routine, while DW left to have lunch with a friend.

Early in the afternoon I went to help a former colleague - who is also my golf partner - get his podcast onto a platform that will help him distribute it. It was another one of those computer struggles with an older person not so adept with computers. I spent two hours with him setting up the basics, and he now has to get his files for further setup. I think what I am experiencing these days is resentment, because so far I can keep up with technology, but people my age around me cannot, and they call me for assistance when stuck. It's one of those situations where I wish I had less knowledge.

When I came back, DW was in a soap-opera drama with her sister. Her sister needs to go into assisted living, but won't, or doesn't know how. My SIL's daughter is not helpful, shall we say, and does nothing but yell at her mother as she becomes more helpless. I will spare you all the gory details, but by the end of the evening I had managed to be able to send her some money via Venmo. She has an account but could not remember how to use it, so it was a long-distance struggle to talk her through the steps. Ultimately it was easier for me to pretend I was her and do the whole thing myself rather than talk her through. But through it all I came to realize that her situation is going to be impacting our lives here for some time to come. She needs help, but she is incapable of asking for it from others or getting it herself. She calls DW two and sometimes three times a day, always in a panic. All I can say is it's not good, and I see no path at the moment for its immediate resolution.

Once the evening settled down, I returned to my book and read a few chapters. Then bedtime. Today is looking like a nice day, and I should go to the campsite and do maybe one or two jobs, but I have two interviews this afternoon, and I don't want to miss them. So I will take care of a few small things at home, do the interviews, and see what the coming days will bring. If the weather is at least dry I should be able to accomplish what I need to do with a few hours. And now winterizing the motor home is looming over my head. I sense that time is running out to get everything accomplished before heading to AZ.

Son2 got a project for himself that he's happy about, but that he will also complain about during the next few months. It's something that will help his studio, I think, but he does have a tendency to complain about anyone else's process but his own. I expect to have to listen to him as well as the months go on until the spring. It was one of those days where you feel like packing your own bags and dropping out of life.
