Hey There! It's 8:13 AM MST, 53°F, sunny

Yesterday was a fairly quiet day. The morning routine went well, and I got in my first walk in some time. I took a slightly shorter route just to get my walking legs under me again.

After breakfast I set about to make sure I have everything in order before going to Japan. I spent some time tracking down the last of my interviewees, and I think I have everyone scheduled but one. That one is going to be a drag, since it's a minor celebrity, and sometimes they are notorious for not getting back in a timely fashion. With any luck I will have all the material for the next three podcasts, and will be waiting on the very last one.

I screwed up in the afternoon, thinking that I had a 2:30 PM interview, but I did not. It was 4:30 PM. My subject is on the west coast, an hour behind, not an hour ahead. So I was ready to go at 2:30 PM before realizing my mistake. Fortunately it made no difference to him, so I reset the Zoom meeting and all went well.

It grew warm yesterday, so we've been running the ceiling fans. As I went to start one of the fans, the pull chain broke. So I took the time in the afternoon that I suddenly had free to go to the local big box, buy a new chain, and install it. I took the CT 125 to give her a little exercise. It was warm enough not to wear protective gear other than the helmet. Not generally a good idea, but my jacket is heavy. I need to get some sort of lighter jacket for warm temps and short rides, but not until I get back home.

The interview ultimately went well. The landlady's daughter dropped off some bread and eggs for us. Her sourdough bread is really great; DW loves it. Then dinner was a beef stew with potatoes, carrots and onions. We had the bread on the side.

It was another quiet evening of podcasts, videos, and dream shopping. I did manage to put up a post on my front facing blog. I find the motivation for writing there is now weak. World affairs are depressing me and stripping my motivation down to nothing. I find writing pointless at times. I have no influence over world affairs, so writing about them is useless. And my life is very quiet, so I write about that here, and not there. Life no longer feels normal, and I even have to question at this point what normal is or could look like. Bedtime was 11:06 PM.
