Hey There! It's 8:08 AM EST
Yesterday dropped a quiet blanket of snow on the ground, about 2-3" or so. It's really quite nice when snow falls softly without any wind. I got out the snow thrower and cleaned the driveway and the sidewalk from the intersection halfway down the block. It was deceptively easy, as the snow thrower started on one pull (didn't even use the electric starter) and behaved itself. I still felt it just a little bit physically, but not enough to run to the Advil bottle.
The rest of the day was very quiet as well. I shuttled DW back and forth from PT, and I sent out some letters of recommendation. Then I got down to writing an essay for my public-facing blog. Writing here everyday has been good practice. For one thing, it's helping me keep my sentences shorter. That's a positive development. And it has helped me elude the news, as now I write more than I read. So I feel more active rather than passively absording the day's sordid national events. It's been a good change.
We had leftover sweet potatoes with little masrshmellows on top of them, a salad, and some cod for dinner. I watched a few episodes of the British comedy series Taskmaster, and then went to bed. The Ashes start up today, so maybe this evening I'll be able to watch a session or two.
Today on the docket is getting back to project reading, as well as two interviews for my podcast. I have to follow up with a third person before too much time goes by to get that third interview. This is the one part of doing the podcast I don't like - chasing down guests. I don't need an assistant, but if I did have one, that's the job I'd pass on to them.
