Hey There! It's 8:42 AM, 37°F, cloudy, snow/rain mixture.
Man, it is one ugly morning this morning. It's above freezing, but there's a mixture of precipitation falling from the grey sky, and everything looks sad and woeful. Very grateful not to have anywhere I need to go.
The podcast was released this morning. I set up everything yesterday to be sent out and released on schedule at 8AM today. No more podcasts until late January.
Once I had finished all the setup, I shuttled DW back and forth from her massage session. The I had a two-hour yak session with my old colleague from back when. He's a major talker, so most of the time I just sit and listen. He always has a few entertaining stories to tell.
After that, I went and booked all the motel rooms for the trip west. It takes a week to get out there, with one day a day off from driving. Now all I have to do is hope for a decent driving day to get out of Dodge.
We had a very early dinner of meat loaf, sweet potatoes and fried zucchini, We finished eating by 5:30PM, but the darkness made it feel like 7:30 PM. I spent the rest of the evening killing time with a couple of camping videos, and I also shopped for a couple of presents for DW: a pair of earrings, and a Cezanne calendar for 2026. Then I watched more of the Ashes. Joe Root earned his century, and I'm now at the drinks break in Australia's first innings at bat.
Watching the Supreme Court's decisions to back Trump's continuing grab for more power has become depressing. I never thought I'd see the day when a Supreme Court was completely bought and paid for by rich oligarchs to ruin this country's freedoms. It will only get worse before it gets better.
