Hey There!

It's 11:23 AM EDT, 69°F, Humidity 52%, Wind 13 mph S, mostly sunny

I am getting a late start here because I had a golf appointment at 9 AM and too many things to get accomplished in the morning before then, so I figured I'd let it go until I got back from golf.

Yesterday after morning routine I immediately went out and began work on the dirt pile. The morning was nice and cool and I was working in the shade, so I felt more energized than usual. I was using the hand truck to move the dirt from backyard to front yard, and I was not getting quite as fatigued as I had been. Long story short, I finished the job. I now have the depression filled with fresh dirt, and the pile in the back yard is gone. I raked everything to be as even as it needs. It looks decent. I'm not too fussy about these things, so if grass grows in the two locations I will be quite happy. I need to get some grass seed before summer is gone.

That took most of the morning. I came in to rest up a bit, and then made some lunch, which was the continuing leftover chili over rice with shredded cheddar on top.

The afternoon I spent sorting out my solar gear a bit more. Having possibly fried the solar controller in my power station (at least the low voltage connection), I began to check out all the batteries I have. There are three I can use and one I can't (a Battle Born). Two of them have small battery boxes and one does not. So I think I will attach the one with the small battery box to the motorhome, use the one with the large battery box for the cabin, and I am not sure yet what to do with the third one. I might just bring it home. I really want to make sure I have enough power at home in case of power outages. The main house is where the most backup should be. I spent some time disconnecting and re-positioning the batteries, and making sure everything worked. When I take them up to the campsite it will entail a lot of lifting and hauling. I looked into purchasing a car or wagon from Harbor Freight, but I am afraid it might turn out to be another one of those things I spend money on and then don't use.

It was close to 5PM before I stopped woking. I spent another hour or so resting before dinner. DW made something called chicken picatta meatballs over some kind of pasta, and it was pretty good.

After dinner we settled in to watch the final game between the NY Heights and LA Queens in the WPBL semi-finals. It was very frustrating to watch because something was off at the stadium with the electricity, and the game kept getting interrupted with technical difficulties. I finally gave up and turned on my team, while DW was going to give up, but then tuned in via computer. She had gotten extremely attached to the Heights, but they lost 14-12, and she was genuinely disappointed and angry at their poor play in the game. I think she cursed about 8 times before she calmed down. My team got a win, but I don't know what the final score was because I tuned out at 7-2.

After the game I went in to clean up the kitchen, and then I wanted to try an electric blanket I had bought. So I set it up out on the porch, where the temperature had hit about 59°F. It was OK, but a bit fiddly to operate. The blanket itself is quite thick and warm to begin with, and I really didn't feel the heat all that much, but I think it warmed up some. It was drawing 48 watts so something was happening. More testing is in order. Bedtime was 11:35 PM.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
