Hey There!

It's 8:25 AM EDT, 44°F, Humidity 68%, Wind 5 mph S, sunny.

The first frost advisory of this fall season was in effect overnight, but it seldom gets frosty this close to the lake. But it's another sign of winter's approach.

Yesterday began with my morning routine, and hopefully I can climb back into a walking routine today. DW made pancakes and sausages for breakfast. Sometimes I get the feeling she's the one who wants pancakes and sausages, but she uses the excuse of making them for me to enjoy them as well.

I spent some time in the morning writing a couple of letters. One went to the editor of a newsletter I unsubscribed to, and another went to a retired colleague trying out a new writing web app called Jotbird. I gave him my impressions, which weren't entirely unfavorable, but mostly centered around distribution.

Once I finished that, DW sent me to the store to pick up a few things for her. I seldom go to the store these days, as we usually order groceries on line, but sometimes it's both pleasant and overwhelming to see all the choices in front of you. Aisles full of food can be a staggering and tempting site if you're not careful.

We had also planned on shipping a couple of grape pies out to Daughter in the PNW, so I checked in with our local shipping storefront. The guy there said he could create a good box for us to ship the pies out, so I went home with the groceries and let DW know I had a plan.

Then I worked on my podcast. The person I had asked to do a couple of interviews really did a poor job technically. He seemed to be unaware that there was an audible horn playing in the background, and it came through in the interviews. He's also not a very enthusiastic interviewer, as his voice is just too calm and steady, with little enthusiasm. I am not sure I will use him again, but my boss will be the eventual decider of that.

Once I got through with my podcast, DW and I got the pies ready. They were frozen to begin with, but we knew we couldn't keep them that way, so we vaccuum-sealed them as well. I brought them down to the shipping store, and they are now on their way to Daughter. She really does look forward to getting her pie at this time of year.

I filled another hour writing a response to the response I got back from my colleague before tuning in to the Chicago-Cleveland series. Cleveland is down two, and that's too bad. They are not hitting.

I watched the game until I had a 6:00 meeting with Son2 about the coming winter season. It looks like I will be wintering in his city a bit more rather than in Arizona. There's good and bad to this scenario. The teaching will keep me from plunging into seasonal depression, but I won't be getting that warmth and sunshine I love in AZ. Can't have it all I guess. I also met his new partner, and he looks like a good addition. He may take some pressure off me as far as having to teach more goes.

Dinner was late at 6:45, but it was good - something of a chicken caccitore light. Once dinner was over I settled in to watch the New York-Tampa Bay game. A sad loss for the Yankees, who played some terrible defense in the first inning and never recovered. Ben RIce hit two home runs, and those were the only runs NY scored. They are down 0-2 in the series.

While watching, I wrote a post on another blog I am working on, a blog dealing with growing old. I'm not sure how much I will keep it up. It seems I have a lot of side blogs these days!

Anyway, the game took me to 11:15, when I went to clean up the kitchen and got to bed by 11:30 PM
