Hey There!
It's 7:47 AM EDT, 44°F, Humidity 80%, Wind 5 mph N, clear
It was a busy day yesterday, but also a fun day. Since we're out of town, there was no real morning routine. I made the coffee inside the room, which was none too good, and there is no coffee shop within easy walking distance. I made do.
DW and I went to a local breakfast establishment for some standard breakfast fare. It's a well known place, and it was crowded, but the food was standard diner style fare.
We brought a ham and egg sandwich back to Son2, and went to a local apple farm, which also doubles as an amusement park themed with pumpkins and apples, and complete with train and hay rides and other rides for kids. We went to the shop because they have the best apple cider donuts around. I bought a dozen. We also bought fudge and I believe a peach salsa.
After that I wanted to go to a hard cider distillery, but it was closed. The day actually ended up becoming a ride in the local countryside, with stops at three different farm stands. We bought more apples, I bought some hard cider, and a chocolatefudge brownie. We drove along the shore of Lake Ontario, and the foliage was pretty nice. We returned to the hotel about 2 PM or so. I took a pretty long nap once we got back.
When I got up, we passed the time until Son2 got off from work. Then we went to see his apartment, which we will be subletting over the winter so I can have a place to crash while teaching for him in the winter session of classes. It will serve the purpose. It's a studio, so there is no escape room, but the ceilings are high, giving it a very spacious feel. For six weeks it will work fine.
Then we went to dinner with him and his girlfriend. He fancies himself a foodie, so after some discussion with his mother, he ordered for the table. It was a nice spread. The location was tough to park at, and not being familiar with the area I had a difficult time finding parking. Driving in the dark in a city I don't know well is challenging these days.
We got back to the hotel about 8:30 or so, and I tuned into the ball game. The Guardians didn't put up much of a fight because they didn't hit and their pitching ran out of gas. They ended up losing 7-3, so the Rays move on to the World Series. I think I may become a Milwaukee fan for this one, as I have ties to and history with Wisconsin, so It seems natural to be a Brewers fan. It may be the first time I am rooting for a National League team to win the World Series in my life. I did not see the entire game, turning it off after the Rays went up 5-1. I hit the hay at about 10:50 PM.
That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
