It's the mildest morning we'll see for some time. Temperature is 51°F with no wind. Cloudy, with some showers in the forecast. We're getting a White Thanksgiving, it seems.
Yesterday wasn't a bad day, just a day full of errands. DW went to both PT and a masseuse, while I went to help a former colleague with getting his own podcast on line. The rest of my day in between those errands was spent putting my podcast together. That's usually an all-day project, and this one was no different. For some reason I was worried it would take more than a day, and to be completely honest, I have not written the show notes yet, so it's not completely done. I will do those this afternoon as well as get out various emails for interviews and announcements about its release.
In the evening I spent some time with more videos on solar energy. I now have plenty of solar energy to run the campsite and motor home, but I don't know yet the best way to deploy it. I have this weird desire to build a solar array for backup home power, but again, I don't think I'd need it. A lot of money and energy for something I may never use in the short time I'll probably be in this house. Too bad all these possibilities didn't exist 20 years ago. Timing is everything, right?
This morning I have to go out and help with a decorating session. I don't really want to, but it's an appearance and good-will thing. I am a holiday grinch, and I hate all the decorating and partying and such. Thanksgiving was always my favorite holiday, but I'm beginning to realize it was easier when the kids were all still at home, and we were younger. The energy it takes to prepare all the Thanksgiving food and such is beginning to strain us. DW will never admit it, but she's pushing the limits of what she can do physically to prepare. And not for nothing, but Son1 and his wife are not the kind of people who will notice and step in to help. For them, it's a little vacation from their own daily family chores, and honestly, I don't blame them. It's something we can give to them for the holiday, but the question of how long it can last is up in the air.
A couple of other chores today include returning a farked computer, and getting the recycling to the center. Either one of those could be delayed until tomorrow, but getting them out of the way for a clean slate tomorrow and a day to prepare for the family onslaught will be welcome.
