Hey There! It's 12:23 PM MST, 78°F, sunny
Started the day not late, but more along the lines of my usual morning routine, seeing as to how I was back home. Made coffee, scanned the news, took a walk, had breakfast, took a shower, second cup of coffee. That covers the morning routine for today and most every day.
Yesterday we packed up and drive home from our visit with our old WI friends. Their trailer park is nice, and I think it's great for people who need to have other people around them and things to do every day. But it's too claustrophobic and busy for us. DW and I don't think we'd do well there.
The drive home was very frustrating due to unusual traffic patterns. We ran into construction delays, an incredibly huge wide load that served as a rolling road block and squeezed traffic from three lanes down to one on the move, another construction zone, and two more wide loads on a state highway. Very unusual and highly frustrating when all you want to do is get home.
We stopped before getting home at a pizza place that doubles as a winery. It appears that people go there for pizza and wine tastings. A neat combination. We had a wood-fired pizza which was delicious. It had ham, pepperoni, parsley, and a very nice tomato sauce. The pizza also was srizzled with honey. It helped ease the frustration.
Upon arriving back to the AirBnB we opened the windows and ran the fans. We made the serious mistake of leaving fish scraps in the garbage can when we left, which left quite the fish smell. Looks like we will have to replace the garbage can.
Dinner was some leftover bolognese sauce on pasta. The the evening was spent not talking, which was a relief after three nights of non-stop talk. Our host can talk the balls off a brass monkey, and he is a highly partisan liberal who loves to talk politics and bash MAGAs. It got old after awhile. But they're basically good people, and surely it's better to spend the evening talking than vegetating. DW retreated to her TV shows, and I retreated to podcasts and YouTube. I went on a bit of a Facebook Marketplace dream search, found things I'd love to buy, but mustn't. At least not until I get home. Bedtime was 11:20 PM. Did not stay up for the lunar eclipse, but did check out a window at 5 AM to see if I could see anything. Nope.
'Til We Meet Again!
