I can't complain bout the weather too much lately. It's been very pleasant woth more sun than we are used to. Loving it!
Yesterday was another day filled with a few tasks and two setbacks. After morning routine, a walk, and breakfast, I went outside to tackle the RV water pump situation. The pump was getting voltage, because I took the panel off and got to the connection behind the switch. The volt meter gave me the reading, so it had to be at the pump. The gaggle of wires surrounding the pump was confusing and intimidating, and there appeared to be no fuse to speak of; just a collection of taped and capped wires. I reached down to see if the connections on the pump were tight, and that must have done the trick, as once I did that the pump came to life. Not a little bit of good fortune involved there!
Once the pump was active I began the routine of pumping out the bleach sanatizing solution. I decided to go to the local state park not far from here and pay the $7 to use their dumping facilities. I dumped the bleach solution, filled the tank with non-potable water, and dumped again. Then I filled the tank with fresh water and came back home. DW wanted one more flushing, so I did that at home.
While doing all this, I noticed that the driver's side of the RV has some delamination going on in the back. This isn't good. Also, I noticed the Check Engine light come on, and the code was for engine misfirings. I am hoping that's because I mixed old gas with new gas, and the mixture is low in octance. It still drives OK, but I can slightly feel the misfirings. I am not driving anywhere long range, so it's not an immediate concern, but both these issues make me realize this might be the last season for the RV.
DW was entertaining a friend when I got home, so I had a little lunch. One of her friend's friend called, a guy who appeared interested in the bike. I talked to him a bit, and he wanted some pictures. In the process of getting the bike out, it was slow to start. I got it onto the driveway, took the pictures, and then it would not start at all. This sucks, because I think I had buyers willing t meet my price. I had to take the bike off the market and tell them I was having issues starting it, and that once I resolved those issues I would contact them. I am sure the battery is too weak to hold a charge. So I have to go and buy a new battery at some point. That's a setback. So two small setbacks in one day: the RV and the scooter, both old items. Like me.
My car was still not ready from the mechanic, so I had to put that off another day. Son1 also contacted me to let me know he is facing a bill of $2K for his car, which he cannot afford, so I will have to pay some (or most likely all) of it. I think he wants our second car, the one the EV is replacing, but it's a slightly more expensive car to run. We are continuing to discuss it. Lots of money will be flowing out this week. I am not terribly concerned about it, but since January the outflow of cash between traveling and helping the children out seems large. It has me worried a little bit, but not very much in truth. I mean, that's what it's there for.
Thankfully DW made a pizza for dinner, so something enjoyable came from the day. No ball game, as the team had a day off, so I spent the evening supporting my CT125 guy's channel, an EDC video, and half a Chinese-produced film. I finally went to bed at 11:15 PM.
