Yesterday was a very pleasant day. No project worries. I luxuriated in my morning routine, knowing there was nothing ahead in the day I was required to attend.
After I got cleaned up, I went out to mow the lawn on the campsite. I first stopped to have the Kia go through the car wash, then I stopped at the DMV to return my plates. But the line was too long for waiting, so I left. I had forgotten to take the keys to the campsite with me, so I had to double back home, grab them, and head out.
On a nice day there is very little that is more pleasant than mowing the lawn. Just riding around for two hours in the sun and getting something accomplished feels wonderful and very peaceful.
After mowing, I went into the cabin and looked things over. It seems my solar arrangement is not working properly, as I was seeing 0 watts of solar input to my power station. The fridge had powered down, so the water that was in it was cool. I decided to air out the motor home and get to that problem later. Airing out the motor home means nothing more than running the exhaust fan, opening the windows and screen door, and letting the air pass through.
I also updated the old Linux computer via my hotspot. The hot spot speed is 5G but it did take awhile. The battery on the computer is shot, so I have to have power to run it. I used the secondary power station for that, as well as running a fan.
I spent a lot of time and spilled a little blood trying to figure out why the solar input wasn't working. There was nothing wrong with the panel, so I suspect either the wiring is bad, or the input on the power station is bad. My secondary unit unfortunately takes at least 32V to begin charging, so the one 200W panel is not providing it enough charge. I had to fight with the MC4 connector to get it to disconnect, but was unsuccessful doing so. In the end, I left the project for another day. The fridge had nothing in it of consequence, so I just left it powered off.
I got home about 5 PM, and the plan was to get dinner out. So we ordered from our favorite burger shack. I had a sausage, peppers and onions sandwich, while DW had a Caesar salad with chicken, and we split some Patatas Bravas, which are potatoes wedges spiced up Mexican style. $30 bucks is not too bad these days for a meal out for two.
After dinner it was ball game time. The first three innings had a lot of action, but the rest of the game settled down to boring. I puttered about on the computer while the game was going on. I had a chat with Daughter about the upcoming trip to Springfield for the inaugural Womens Pro Baseball League tournament. She's bringing a friend, but I suspect DW and I will be footing most of the bill.
When the game was over I went to the basement to check on some possible options to replace the solar power at the camp site. I may have to buy one more LiFePo battery, and I should do it quick before prices go up. I am unsure when I will ever get prices lower than they are now. After considering the options and looking for the parts, I went back upstairs. I left the kitchen to clean this morning, and went to bed around 11:15 PM.
