Hey There! It's 12:32 PM EST, 41°F, Rain

Happy Failed Insurrection Day!

Yesterday was a day full of random errands and still more packing. DW had 3 appointments, and I drove her to two of those. In between I finalized my gear and electronics. I have to keep in mind that I am packing for two locations, and some things I possibly need to purchase for Japan can wait until I get to AZ. There are still a few more clothes to pack, and as always there will be some last-minute items. But all in all, I feel ready to go.

I spent the in-between hours reading more projects and sending responses. I don't think I'm going to finish them all, so I will have to take them with me to AZ. Not too much of an issue, but I will be glad to have them off my plate.

Dinner was another roast chicken, as we are slowly dwindling down the food in the fridge. After dinner I chatted a bit with a former colleague in MA, and then I believe I wasted a few hours chasing YouTube videos. I found one channel from a guy my age who apparently does nothing but pick something he wants to talk about related to retirement, talks into the camera, and posts it. It was so dead simple I found myself being caught between thinking of it as silly and thinking of it as insightful or perhaps therapeutic for him. I gather from his accent he's not a deep southerner, so perhaps maybe Missouri or Arkansas or another similar border state. He and his wife are living on nothing but Social Security, which is tough to do. He has no savings. He spent his life as a contractor. He says he has a college degree, but he didn't specify what the degree was in. I may listen to a few more of his videos. He's the master of common sense. Bedtime was 11:25 PM.
