Hey There! It's 8:25 AM MST, 33°F, sunny
Yesterday was a pretty mellow day, the first one in a long time. It was a welcome change.
I started the day out with a walk. I think I have not acclimatized myself to the higher altitude, because at times the walk made me just a tad light-headed. I've found an "around the block" route which is a little less than the 1.6 miles I usually do, but it will do for now before I become more adventurous. I've discovered these frozen bacon, egg, and cheese burritos in the store, and I had one for breakfast, topped with picante sauce, accompanied by a banana. Not bad.
I spent the rest of the morning writing the script for my upcoming podcast. It's going to be a short version this time around. I've had some difficulty lining up interviews, and was ready to do a last-minute drop, but my boss told me not to pressure myself and just get the two interviews done. So that's where I'm headed.
I actually did do an interview yesterday with an old colleague, which was fun. Following that interview, DW and I went Goodwill shopping. I wanted to get a Sonoran dog before we went, but I forgot it was Monday, and the truck was closed. So I dropped DW at the Goodwill and went to Carl Jr. instead, getting a Western bacon cheeseburger. We also went to the UPS store to send back an item I want to exchange, but UPS said if I needed a receipt I had to go to the post office, so I just got the label printed.
DW bought two pasta bowls, as she was complaining about the lack of said bowls in the rental, and also we bought two water bottles. One is LL Bean labeled and was brand new, and the other is a Rubbermaid bottle with a nice dual cap function. Some forks, a couple of coffee cups, and some storage containers for leftovers completed the haul. The woman ahead of us gave us some kind of gift card she wasn't using, so all in all it was a $7 haul. Not bad.
I took a nap in the afternoon after setting up DW's new zero gravity chair. The old one had snapped some of the retaining wire that was soldered to the frame, and she didn't trust it anymore. The zero gravity chairs act like recliners for us in the evening. DW made some sausage soup of some kind, and in the evening I settled in to some YouTube videos. I stumbled upon a channel that featured tours of some of the local historical sites, so that was interesting and not a waste of time. DW has been feeling much better and has finally finished her antibiotic, which did not give her much problems.
So it looks like we are heading into a stretch of free time to enjoy ourselves. I do know I have a lot I want to get done, and I have to get back to planning for Japan. But for now, the pressure seems to be easing. It feels pretty good.
'Til We Meet Again!
