Hey There!

It's 1:50 PM EDT, 75°F, Humidity 86%, Wind 4 mph NW, partly sunny, AQI 46.

This is coming at you a little late because events yesterday had me unexpectedly leaving town for a shot 24-hour trip to Son2's city to see a house and then teach a class in his studio.

I was moving through my morning routine yesterday morning when Son2 sent a message wondering if I could be in his city by noon to see a house he had seen. We have been strategizing about buying property in his city both for him to live in and potentially DW and I to live in down the line. So DW and I packed overnight bags at the last minute, hopped in the car, and took the 2-hour drive to the city. I figured it was best to see the place and get my feet wet in the process.

The house was too small, which taught me that pictures can exaggerate room size. It was cute, it had some nice features, but it was old and the interior definitely needed freshening up. The neighborhood was OK, but of course this is a city, and so it's a different vibe from our small dinky town. It was definitely too small for three people, and in the wintertime it would be downright claustrophobic. But it's a start, and I imagine this is going to be an ongoing project for a few months. I am not looking forward to the process.

We had lunch and discussed the whole situation. He's got most of the cash ready to go as well as a loan, but he will still need some financial help from us in some manner. After lunch I went up to the room and took a pretty good nap.

When I got up from the nap it was just about time to go teach the class. DW was going to dinner with the girlfriend and her mother. The class was fine, and I did my usual routine, looking at material, offering suggestions and tweaks for improvement. I got out about 9:15 PM and walked back to the hotel.

DW had brought back some meatballs from the Italian place they went to eat, so I chowed those down and did a little browsing on the computer. Bedtime came up a little early, as I was tired from the class and driving. I hit the pillow about 10:45 PM. Unfortunately, the meatballs kept me from getting the best night's sleep. It is never wise to eat that close to sleeping, but the timing was poor all around.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
