Hey There!

Yesterday was another day of massive procrastination! DW went to visit a friend, and rather than buckle down and get started on podcast editing, I decided to write another post for my front-facing blog. I did that after taking my walk. Today is my off-day from walking, so hopefully I will bang out this podcast today.

I also picked up the groceries. DW and I use Walmart+ to shop on line for groceries and then pick them up. We started this practice during the pandemic and have continued it due to its ease and time-saving. I'm not a fan of Walmart, but the other major store in our region doesn't have this same kind of service. So we've buckled. I can't imagine anymore what it might be like to go into a grocery store for an hour and shop, even though I used to do it regularly. Sometimes you just have to sit back and be amazed at how the world of online shopping has changed so many things about purchasing goods and services.

Lunch was leftover meatloaf, and after that I think I took another short nap. We got a call from the bank letting us know our withdrawal privileges from our home equity loan will be up in November, so if we want to maintain a line of credit, we have to re-up for the next ten years. We might do that, but we're talking with our financial advisor soon so we'll ask him if this is prudent.

I bought a very small gas fire pit for camping, and it arrived yesterday. It's a cute little thing, and offers a modest fire with no trouble at all. After dinner last night I used it to sit outside and listen to part of the ball game. It produces a rather nice atmosphere, yet somehow I wanted the flame to be bigger. I think the relatively small size is more safe, however, so I can't get too bent out of shape about it.

I have a dentist appointment today. My teeth are not the greatest, but I do have the greatest dental hygienist. I have to have my teeth cleaned three times a year over the average two. I might, however, be looking at a visit to a periodontist next spring. I have lost a few teeth and there are some that, while they don't hurt, are not in the best of shape. I do brush and use a waterpik, but I may have started the waterpik too late. I was never a good flosser.

I think that's about it for the day. It rained a lot most of the afternoon and into the evening, but the coming weekend is supposed to bring the sun back again. I need to get out all I can before the bad autumn weather sets in with its cold, grey, cloudy days.

'Til We Meet Again!
