Hey There!
It's 8:27 AM EDT, 49°F, Humidity 78%, Wind 6 mph NE, sunshine
The heat is beginning to click on in the early morning as the temperatures dip down below 50°F. Looks like we got down to a low of 48°F last night. But there has been sunshine, so the days have actually been quite pleasant.
Yesterday I had an early morning routine and headed off to play glof at 9 AM. The course was a little dewy, but my shoes and socks both wick moisture fast. I also broke in my orthotics as well. It was a beautiful morning, but not matched by a beautiful round of golf. No pars, a few nice shots here and there, but too many sloppy shots as well. No complaints, however. We finished up by 11:15 AM.
I came home and had a second cup of coffee outside on the porch because it was so nice out there. Eventually I came back in and had a chat with Daughter about the WPBL Final game. She really enjoyed the WPBL this season, and she was so happy to have attended live last month. She'll have that memory long after I'm dead and gone, which makes me feel good.
DW had gone to have her shoulder attended to by a massage therapist, and she felt better after the session. She wrenched a couple of muscles, and they are taking a long time to heal. I was stretched out on the couch trying to recover from the golf session, which always leaves me stiff and achy. I went upstairs and took a warm shower and some Advil to gain a little relief. Then I had the final slice of leftover meat loaf in a sandwich for lunch.
At 4PM we went out to get our weekly share of vegetables from the vegetable co-op, and it was a decent haul. Leaf lettuce, fresh tomatoes, carrots, apples, and DW added two dozen eggs to the load. Our lawn cutter took care of the lawn, even moving some cement blocks that I had put out to lean solar panel on. He's been great.
I wrote a post about the golf session for my public blog, and did some investigating on starting another blog on a different service, but I can't find any reason to do so other than tinkering. There are so many free sites for blogging like this one (Mataroa) that I don't see the point, really. And I don't really have anything in particular to write about. I got enough going for now.
Dinner was fantastic - grilled marinated pork chops with sweet potatoes in some kind of glaze, and a salad from the fresh veggies. DW and I often play a game fo how much we think our evening meal would cost in a restuarant, and I went with $27 for last night's meal. We eat very well at home, so we hardly ever go out because the prices are high and we are often disappointed with the portion.
In the evening I turned on the ball game, and as the regular season is coming to an end, the games are taking on the feel of spring training. My team won 9-2, but they were playing the first-place team, who put in a lot of reserves, especially on the mound. Everyone's shaping their rosters for the playoffs. I ended up the evening by watching the latest Sidetrack Adventure as well as a video on an interesting new flashlight, which I'd love to have but held off buying. I cleaned up the kitchen, set a mousetrap (caught him!), and went to bed around 11:20 PM.
