Hey There!
It's 8:10 AM EDT, 70°F, Humidity 87%, Wind 8 mph NW, partly cloudy
I think it may be another short post today as I have golf this morning. I hope I can make it through 9 holes today.
Yesterday after my morning routine (no walk, zero day), I spent a good deal of the day doing two things. The first was shooting emails back and forth with my boss concerning the future of my podcast. The second was shooting chat messages with Son2 about preparing for his colonoscopy.
As far as my podcast is concerned, I will be leaving at the end of this season, so the search is on for something to replace what I am doing. The person who was supposed to take my place for some interviews apparently does not have the necessary technology to do so, so now his participation is up in the air, as he says he won't buy a computer. I had to do some research to be sure of this, and I spent time doing that. In the end, the question is still open, and I expect to hear from the boss maybe today. That was one part of the day.
The second part of the day was trying to guide Son2 through his colonoscopy prep. It's his first one, and he has not IMO prepared well. He hasn't read the instructions yet (although he may have read them last night), and he seems to be trying to squeeze the prep timetable to fit his agenda and not the other way around. I'm a little frustrated with him because his behavior is not that of an adult, but more like a petulant boy. I am beginning to think he's something of a man-child at times; a man outwardly, but inside just a little boy who is actively refusing to become an adult in a lot of ways.
I also took DW to her cardiology appointment. All is well, everything OK. The doctor brought up the possibility of doing an ablation, but he said we also have time to consider that, so no particular rush unless and until the AFiB comes back. So we decided to hold off for now, as the cardioversion seems to be holding well. We went shopping for a few groceries after that. DW told me to bring in one bag, but by the time we left we had two bags full of stuff. The list was olive oil and paprika. We came out with much much more!
In the course of the day, DW and I had a conversation about going out west this coming winter, and I think we have talked ourselves out of it. The money can be used for other projects we have to accomplish at home; the drive is long both ways; we are pretty comfortable here and the motivation to pack up and go seems to be lacking on both our parts. We may yet change our minds, but in some ways this decision removes a lot of anxiety. I have a young guy who is snowblowing our driveway and walk, so without having to do that, the winter becomes somewhat more tolerable. I may still get the winter blues, but perhaps not so strongly having spent two winters out of town. The cost/benefit analysis seems to favor staying home, but not by too much.
Dinner was leftovers. I had the leftover chicken scampi with a side salad, and DW had a large salad with leftover grilled chicken. After dinner I watched the ballgame, and the team is doing what they should be doing - beating a much weaker team. I did a little bit of reading on the current state of higher education, became thoroughly depressed, and went to bed after cleaning up the kitchen at 11:02 PM.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
