Hey There! It's 11:41 AM EDT
I seem to have come down with a bit of a cold, as I am sneezing and my nose is running and I feel rundown. Perhaps it's the result of too much baseball watching and late nights. Not sure.
So today I am trying to get through the day with two interviews. I have canceled all other obligations so I can prepare for Saturday's journey to teach a class for Son2. It's a 2-hour drive one way. I'm trying a round trip to see if I can make it.
There's also some family drama going on, which is disappointing. Son2 does not like Son1's choice of a wife, and has decided he's not going to come to Thanksgiving dinner as a result. He didn't have a good time last year. It's disappointing because the least I think he could do is suck it up for two days out of the year. Thanksgiving has always been the biggest holiday in the family. I suppose I'll have to adapt with the changes over time, but this one does sting a little.
I am surprised he displays so little charity to his brother. There's a deeper story here, but at the moment I don't feel like getting into it. Suffice to say that Son1 is socially challenged, and his wife is the same, and they can be difficult to be around. Can't deny that. But I think he's capable of realizing that and handling it for a couple of days. He just chooses not to. I don't think he realizes how much it means to DW and I. I suppose we'll get over it, but it does remind me that children have their faults, and being disappointed in them is not an unusual situation. But it's depressing none the less.
In the meantime, today is a bit more baseball and the interviews. And rest. One series is now over, and the others will be decided by tomorrow. Then the schedule gets less intense.
