Hey There! It's 11:47 AM EDT
After yesterday's excursion I hit the hay early after the ball game got to be a score of 7-2 Toronto. Just as well. Blowouts are boring. I was just too tired from the hike I took. It wasn't a long hike in terms of distance - no more than a mile - but the elevation gain was intense. I went down about 550' in elevation and came back up about 667'. That's what got me.
The excursion was really fun none the less. The drive to the park, the views of the hills covered in foliage - all very scenic. I think this is the best part about living in the northeastern US. In the Midwest and out west I don't think the foliage is as interesting.
After the park visit we went to have lunch at a local diner. I tried something called Gristis, and it turned out to be a meat sauce on an overcooked burger. Not too good. DW had a chicken cordon bleu sandwich and she enjoyed it. Lucky her! We also stopped at a local apple cider mill and got some donuts, apples, and cheese curds. I think we might go out again next week, but not venture as far from home. There's a lot to see locally that's just as fine.
Today I had a little scare because my senior tech student called me yesterday while I was out but I couldn't get back in touch with her. I tried again this morning and still no answer, so I called up another friend who is in contact with her to see if she was OK. Turned out she was, but you always get nervous when an 84-year-old woman living alone doesn't call you back. It seems she got a new iPhone and can't quite work it yet. I'll be going out there later today for an extended visit and see if I can get her back to working her new phone. It's a challenge.
DW went to PT, but I stayed home to check on the status of my motorcycle, which has been in the shop way too long. One small lousy part is holding up the whole thing. Hopefully tomorrow it should be done. No walk today - recovery day!
