Hey There! It's 8:04 AM EDT, 55°F, Wind 5 mph W, sunny
Yesterday was another day of small accomplishments, but also a day of feeling paralyzed and stuck. It was one of those days where there was nothing of note to accomplish, but at the same time the small steps forward did not seem large enough for the situation.
After my morning routine, I went for a walk. I had intended it to be a short walk, but it ended up being a bit more than the usual distance, as I both walked the neighborhood ring while also going the hatchery crosswalk. It's still relatively short as far as walks go, but the days have been pleasant for walking lately, so I didn't mind, and it didn't fatigue me all that much. One thing that has changed in my walk is the dismissal of Google Health from my phone. It used to be FitBit, but it seems Google has snatched up yet another way of gathering more data about me, so I banned it from my phone. No real loss, as I have other ways to measure distance and steps and my heart rate. And to be honest, I don't really care much at all about tracking all these things. All I really want is distance and time. After that, it's gravy.
After a breakfast of a cinnamon raisin bagel with peanut butter and a banana on the side, I decided I wanted to take pictures to prepare my Kymco 300i for sale. It's big and heavy, and I really should sell it, but every time I get on the thing I have second thoughts. There's nothing like the feeling of traveling on a motorcycle. But I went through with it - rode to the park and took the pictures.
My paralysis comes in trying to decide the best place to sell it. Unfortunately both Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace are unacceptable to me from an ethical standpoint, but I may be forced to use one of them - probably Facebook - to get the thing sold. I think I may try putting a "For Sale" sign on it and park it on the front lawn for a bit and see if I get any bites. But my paralysis comes from the thought of having to create a Facebook account. I would like to keep it as tight and secure as possible. I don't want to use DW's account all the time even though she's fine with that. We will see how this proceeds, but it makes me hesitant to start.
I also spent some more time looking for an ebike for DIL's daughter. I thought I had found one, but I spent too long thinking about it and it was sold. I do have the problem of overthinking things and worrying perhaps too much about the cost of items. This one was perfect, about two hours away. But it was gone when I finally decided it was the one. So the hunt continues.
In the afternoon I took on a totally unnecessary project - turning an Asus T200 NotePad PC into a Linux machine running Lubuntu. Lubuntu is the smallest flavor of Linux I know that's still Debian and runs on an Ubuntu core. The machine already had Xubuntu on it, but I wanted to go smaller. Why a waste of time? Because with 2GB of RAM it's really slow and practically useless. I spent maybe 4 hours with the thing, and after several frustrations I finally got it done. But it was a hollow victory, as I put it in the drawer as soon as I had succeeded.
Dinner was a lot of salad, as DW and I went to pick up our weekly veggies. We took some leftover chicken, drizzled it with BBQ sauce, and loaded a pita with the chicken and veggies for a sandwich. There was also a side salad.
Then of course the baseball game, which once again turned into a laugher, and so I think I turned it off in the 7th inning. I then watched a Sidetrack Adventure video, and decided to try and call it an early evening. After cleaning up the kitchen, bedtime was 10:55 PM.
'Til We Meet Again!
