Hey There! It's 7:57 AM, 41°F, overcast, Wind 13 mph W

Yesterday became a less structured day than I had expected. While I was going through my morning routine (zero walk day), I got a call from a person I was having lunch with later in the day. Basically he called in sick and canceled, so I was left with a lot of time to fill. Fortunately, I found things to do. Unfortunately, they did not go as well as I would have liked.

Afte finishing my routine, I decided to try another shot at making a video for Son2's studio. This time I decided to wing it a bit, so I took the same ideas and just let them fly without a script. Then I put it through iMovie for a caption and fades. Then I uploaded it. He hasn't seen it yet, so I don't know whether it was good enough. I may have believed I was ready for this, but I think I'm just not savvy enough with the camera and TikTok style for it to work. We'll see.

After that I spent two hours writing a post for my public blog. I got right to the end, was writing the title and one more line of small code, when the program froze. I had to force quit and lose two hours of work. I was pretty mad at the program, and from now on I will be using dedicated markdown software to write posts rather than what the site offers. Two hours wasted. Not pleasant when you realize you have to do it all over again. I bear some fault in that I should be saving the post periodically, but really, the program shouldn't freeze under such a light strain.

Fortunately the ball game was moved to a day game from a night game due to bad weather expected, so I tuned in. It turned out to be a bad loss. I took a slight nap in the middle of it. I tuned out the last two innings to get ready for an interview.

I did something I don't ordinarily do - make a cup of coffee in the afternoon. I had this sluggish feeling I couldn't shake, so before the interview I felt I needed a lift. Enter coffee. The interview went well, as these two people I spoke with had their stuff all ready to go. I didn't have to do very much except let them talk.

Then DW and I went to pick up the first shipment of vegetables from our cooperative garden program. All organic. We get an assortment of veggies for something like $750 for the season, one pickup a week. This farm is run by the son of a man who has been organic all his life and used to run an all-natural store in the area. He wasn't terribly good at it, but his son has turned out to be fantastic at it. I am in awe of the fact these days that kids I knew when they were toddlers are now adults running businesses. It's both a humbling and slightly fearful experience, as it makes you very conscious of the passage of time and your mortality.

After we got the veggies in the house, we decided to eat out and split a crispy chicken sandwich from our local burger shack. It's big enough for us to split, and we added french fries (real spuds) and mozzerella sticks to the meal. Too much fried food, and yes, the irony of just having bought fresh organic vegetables did not escape us. We enjoyed it nonetheless.

After dinner I decided to re-write the post I had lost earlier in the afternoon. Once I accomplished that, I took in another Sidetrack Adventure, an Arizona ride in the desert, and a little Utah scenery from another van lifer. I also watched a couple of videos from my US statistics guy on places to live or not live. He's very funny at times so I consider it comic entertainment ("Arkansas blows!"). Bedtime was 11:02 PM.

'Til We Meet Again!
