Hey There! It's 808 AM PDT, 35°, sunny
Yesterday was a bit of an easy day. I started the day with coffee and the news. I think I have adapted to motel coffee, which is a shame. The news is dreadful. Not much to be done there. Just like bad coffee in a motel, we're in an era where humans are seen as nothing but profit centers to be squeezed by corrupt capitalists and billionaires. At my age, I'm simply adapting as I can.
We pretty much hung around all day. After breakfast I did some computer work while DW took care of bills. We went through the pile of mail Daughter brought over. I did go out for lunch and got half a sub for me with a cup of soup for DW. I also had to track down distilled water for our CPAPs. Getting around this part of Tumwater can be tricky as I-5 bisects the neighborhood. One side has the shopping, it seems, while the other has the housing. Getting from one side to another can be a PITA.
I took a fairly long nap after that, and when Daughter got out of work we went to dinner. Finding a place for dinner everyone likes that inexpensive is a chore. We settled on a small Mediterranean cafe, which we've been to before. It was fine. When we all get together DW and Daughter usually do all the talking between themselves. I don't mind, really. I'm literally the odd man out.
We came back to the hotel where the conversation turned mostly to catching up with Daughter, and again mostly a conversation between DW and Daughter. It was Opening Day for the baseball season, and I kept half an eye on the score, but didn't really watch.
Once Daughter left, I began to do some digging into my upcoming Japan journey. I found out that at SEA-TAC there is a system whereby you can reserve a time to go through security. I may take advantage of that. I also realized I need travel insurance, so I have to buy that as well, probably today. I looked into a few companies last night before bed, and I am presuming because of my age that the prices can be high. But there are one or two reasonable offers, so I will get one of those in the $300-400 range. Bedtime was 11:15 PM.
Notable deaths - Chip Taylor, rock song writer and brother of actor Jon Voight, 86.
