It's another good-looking morning!
Yesterday was another day shooting video down at the lake for the Discovery Trail project. After morning routine, I packed up my gear and headed down there. Before leaving I set up DW to do some cleaning in the motor home. She's doing some re-arranging and cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. She's taking it slow so as not to aggrevate her aFib, which is good.
The morning shoots were good, and I can see the progress. I've not been taking an actual walk because I've been walking back and forth on the trail and getting in my 5,000 steps in that way.
We had ordered a supply of beef and were expecting it by 8:30 AM, but the delivery guy called to say he wasn't going to bring it until Saturday after the local farmer's market closed, and how about we come pick it up? This is local company processing organic, grass-fed beef, and they are not the most efficient business in the world. It's run by earthy-crunchy types, and clearly the guy wasn't interested in making delivery runs yesterday, so he decided to take the day off and make us, who chose delivery, come and get it. Not good business. If he wanted repeat business he's not going to get is from us. They're too scattered.
When I got back from the morning shoot I started the process of downloading what I shot and re-charging the batteries. I was deep into the process, so I burned a slice of leftover pizza I had for lunch. I also unlocked and reset an ancient iPad Mini that had belonged to my Mom, but it appears it can't connect to wireless anymore. I don't feel like figuring out why that's the case. Once I had everything recharged it was back to the build site.
I thought I had shot some really good video, but when I got home, nothing that I shot had audio. This was a major disappointment, and I don't know how to correct it, nor what I did wrong (if anything). There must be some setting that always returns to "neutral" when you restart the process. I'll be testing that today, as I don't want to make any more mistakes with audio. I uploaded what I had shot for the day, and put the gear away.
DW and I then went "shopping." We stopped at the Community garden to pick up our weekly veggies, then headed to Wally World to pick up our online order. We were driving in the new EV, and at one point I got ready to pull out of the parking space, starting the car while the packer was still loading the trunk. DW said to me I shouldn't have started the car while the packer was in the back because he'd be breathing exhaust fumes. I had to chuckle when I reminded her she was in an electric car, which doesn't produce exhaust fumes. She looked puzzled for a moment, and then sort of shrugged. It does take some getting used to, driving an all-electric car.
I unloaded the car, and DW loaded up the shelves and refrigerator. We rested a bit, and then made a dinner of hamburgers and potatoes. Then we settled in to pass the evening. I turned on the ball game.
I realized as I sat down to watch the game that I had no secondary device near me, neither phone nor computer. I decided to try and watch the game without either there. It was not too difficult, but I did feel antsy at times. One thing I did do, which I knew I had to do, was update my iPad Mini, so I let that run while watching the game. We lost, and with yesterday's loss we will lose the series.
After the game was over I checked the Mini and it was good to go. I brought my computer back to the couch, watched a few videos, and cleaned the kitchen. Bedtime was 10:57 PM.
