Hey There! It's 8:01 AM EDT, 62°F, Humidity 84%, Wind 6 mph SE, rain

Yesterday was a day spent doing quiet things, with a project meeting thrown into the middle of it. I will be working hard the next four weeks trying not to let the project ruin the entire day.

I went through my usual morning routine sans walk. I am beginning to think I may not take up walking again until the project is complete. Honestly I don't know whether this is smart or not, but I don't want to be burning a hour in the morning walking.

In going through my morning feed I ran across an article from someone that pointed me to a new pickup truck called a Slate. I was intrigued, so I followed up. Very interesting vehicle. I'm not a pickup guy, but this vehicle is so intriguing that I will probably consider one in a year. I won't go into all the details here, but I recommend just looking into it and seeing for yourself how innovative it is. It is disruptive technology, and if you're into that kind of thing, you will enjoy learning about this vehicle.

I decided yesterday to try a new computer setup, but I did not have the time to execute it before leaving. I am considering moving my podcast production to (gasp) Windoze. Rather than shuttling my MacBook back and forth, using the Windoze machine in the back office will allow me to keep the MacBook couchside. I came to the realization that my desire for a Mac Mini was based on a desire to have a fixed production station. Since all I produce, however, is an audio podcast, the Windoze machine sitting in the office all the time will serve that purpose fine. I avoid using Windoze, but for this one purpose I guess it might work. We shall see with the next podcast production.

I left for the meeting at 11 AM, charging up the EV once I got there. I drove it in normal mode for the first time, and the feel of the car was even sportier. But there was an energy hit; not much, but enough. Took 20 minutes to charge the car while I walked over to the bank to get cash and to the 7-11 to get beef jerky.

My partner arrived 30 minutes late. Although she was the one who sent a text out confirming the time we were supposed to meet, she thought it was an hour later. She asked why I didn't text her when it was apparent she was late. That, to me, is a classic case of blame-shifting: she's late because I didn't text her. Given the half-hour drive we each have, even if I had texted her at 12:02, she only would have been on her way and needed another 25 minutes to get there. Texting her wouldn't have made her earlier.

The meeting didn't go well after that. At one point she got so flustered that she walked out of the room. I think even the team head is getting frustrated with her. I was pretty happy to get out of there.

When I got home, I began once again to get more details on the Slate pickup truck. I spent a good hour looking at the web site, getting the specs, and watching a video of the unveiling of the Slate (not terribly good). Dinner was some kind of fish that looked like a log, along with rice pilaf. The sauce for the fish was tasty, and I mixed the last of my rice in with it.

After dinner, I watched the ball game, which we won. Then - you guessed it - I went back down the Slate rabbit hole, looking for reviews or other videos outside the company talking about the Slate. There aren't really any real-world videos out there yet, but hopefully by the end of the year there will be. Delivery is supposed to start towards the end of the year. After kitchen cleanup, went to bed at 11:20 PM. I did not dream of the Slate.

'Til We Meet Again!
