Yesterday was a busy day, and I guess you could count it as a full working day. That's unusual these days.
After the morning routine, I had my first interview of the day. The person I interviewed essentially has become "me" in my old position. So it's always fun to get the opportunity to talk with him and sort of catch up. After the interview I had some breakfast and then took a shower.
I resumed trying to get all my upcoming interviews for my podcast lined up, so I wrote a whole bunch more emails as well as answering those that came through and making appointments. It's really not hard work, but writing each and every email, and trying to explain the situation over and over, was just something that took some extra concentration.
I had a second interview in the early afternoon, and at the end of that interview I polished off all the rest of the correspondence I had in my inbox. So all my invites are out, and I am waiting for responses and scheduling.
I also did some prep work for our baseball spring training trip. That will be coming up next weekend. I am hoping I can squeeze it in between interviews. Looks like I'll be able to get only two games in instead of three this year. That's just fine, really.
I also did some preliminary research about our River House/Grand Canyon trip after we leave here. The River House is my brother's place at the AZ/CA border by the Colorado River. The question is his house first and then the Canyon? Or Canyon first and then his house? I have to be somewhere with WiFi all day on March 21, so it's something of a challenge. Canyon first and then his house makes sense from a directional point of view, while his house first and then canyon makes sense from a practical point of view (the wifi). It's a puzzle with no real perfect solution, but I'll figure it out by the weekend.
Then I began to research tours in Tokyo as well as when to see a baseball game. Given the schedule it looks like April 2 will be baseball day, and the Yakult Swallows will be the team. Tickets don't go on sale until this coming Saturday, however, so I have to wait a bit. I sent the possible tours to my SIL for her to go over and add some of her own.
It got to be dinner time, which was a salmon filet, broccoli in cheese sauce, and brown rice. Then I spent the evening with two videos and two podcasts. Filling the evening hours has become a huge challenge. I am looking for more and more alternatives that will be satisfying. Bedtime was 11:15 PM.
