Hey There!

It's 7:31 AM EDT, 72°F, Humidity 89%, Wind 4 mph SW, partly cloudy, AQI 45

Yesterday was one of those days where the time was taken up by tasks that take a long time. In this case, driving. I got up early to get out to Son2's city, and I had my audiology test. The audiology test was about 90 minutes, and before I knew it, it was noon. Also before I knew it, I was broke! My new hearing aids cost in the neighborhood of $6700, with $3K of that covered by insurance. These things can do anything but milk a cow, and for that price, they should. I think they're a ripoff, actually, and I am dead sure a cheaper pair will get the job done. But one thing I was hoping to get was Bluetooth connectivity, and that's what these have. My hearing loss is pretty bad, severe at high frequencies, but I'm not exactly deaf. So I decided to go the "buy once cry once" route, since I've also read that not being able to hear well can contribute to deteriorating mental health. The one catch is that one of the features, the ability to answer the phone via your hearing aids, is not available to me because my phone is too old. But considering I don't get many phone calls, I may not care about that. Upgrading to a used phone that is newer will cost ~$450, so I will wait a bit to see if I truly need that feature. It's not like I'm receiving numerous calls all day long here.

I had lunch with Son2 and had a $34 lobster roll, so it was a spendy day. We talked about his business as well as buying a house. He's probably the child we will end up being closest to as we age, so he wants us to house hunt with him and "approve" of his ultimate purchase, so that it's something we'll be comfortable in later in life. He seems to be doing well, but he keeps himself quite busy. I hope he doesn't burn out.

When I got back home I gave DW all the news and updates. Then I tried to take a nap, but couldn't seem to get comfortable. I did a little research for my rotisserie team, and then dinner was ready. It was a beef and pasta dish in tomato sauce, and I had an ear of corn on the side. After dinner the ball game was scheduled, but rain delayed the game for over an hour, so I watched an Asian Boss video on gun history in the Philippines, and then the latest Sidetrack Adventure. By then the game started. I watched until the 8th inning, and with the team losing and having blown scoring opportunities, went to bed at 11:15 PM.

That's about it. 'Til We Meet Again!
