Hey There!

It's 7:53 AM EDT, 68°F, Humidity 79%, Wind 11 mph S, sunny, AQI 48

Yesterday was sort of a busy day. I went through my morning routine, with the exception of a walk. I just didn't feel like it. I have to get back into that routine. It became a day of errands and technology.

The first thing I did was fill out yet another online set of questions and documents for my upcoming colonoscopy. It seems to me these days that you get far too many emails, texts, and other constant reminders of all your medical appointments, and the paperwork is all online and a bit onerous. Time was you made a medical or dental appointment and showed up. Something changed, but I don't quite know what.

Then DW and I got together three packages for dropoff. I was returning a travel bag, DW some supplements, and we were mailing out a package to Daughter. The travel bag was an Amazon return, so I dropped that off at the local pharmacy now doing UPS pickups, and I also picked up my blood pressure medication while there. Then off to the local shipping store (no UPS store here) to drop off the other packages for return. It's fun to zipping around in the Leaf again.

When I got home, I began the process of wiping and resetting all my computers that I am going to give away to Goodwill. This process literally took up the rest of the day. Added to this project was the installation of Linux Mint to the HP Stream 14 I bought while in Springfield, which arrived in the afternoon. There were a few bumps in the road along the way, such as having a hard time finding a USB stick or card to use as a Chromebook Recovery tool, but in the end here's the result of the day's work: two Chromebooks restored to factory setting, the 17" Dell Inspiron wiped clean with a new install of Linux Mint XFCE, and the HP 14 Stream set up with Linux Mint XFCE for my use. All this took up to 6:30 PM, starting at about noon or so. So about 6 hours. Believe it or not, it can be exhausting, especially when things do not go 100% as planned. But now I have three computers to give away, and one I plan to use as a travel computer so I don't have to take my MacBook Air M2 unless I have major work to do on it.

We had dinner at 7:00 PM, which was some pork loin we had stashed in the freezer, along with the last two knishes, and a salad. In the evening, I ended up watching the ball game (a good win, final score I think was 9-3), and then playing with the Stream and giving it a bit of a workout to see if it can handle daily use. It only has 4GB of RAM, but so far it's handling things pretty well. I connected my Bluetooth earbuds, and it struggled just a bit with YouTube, but not too bad. The onboard speakers are pretty weak. I think as long as I don't tax it too much, it should be fine. Bedtime ended up being 11:40 PM.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
