Hey There! It's 11:05 AM
I've decided to add the time of day at the top so you can get a context of where I am in the day when I write. I don't write at any regular time of the day, so perhaps that might be of help. I think it's going to help me as well because it will let me know what's left to cover from the day before.
I'm a little disoriented this morning because I feel like there's nothing to do. Today is my day off, and I decided to use the whole day as a recovery day for the week ahead. I've got a list of things to get done this coming week, but none of them are anything major. The largest chore on deck is getting the RV inspected sometime this week. I am probably ready to bring it home for the winter or any possible trips before fall becomes colder. The weather here has been glorious, but it's also brought with it mild drought conditions. The week ahead has no rain in the forecast, unusual for this time of year. I feel this is the summer you'd always want to have, except it's no longer summer.
Both my scooter and my motorcycle have issues now. My scooter's battery is no longer holding a charge, so I ordered a new lithium one from Amazon. The Honda had a flat rear tire and now will not pump up, so I suspect it's something with the valve. I am terrible with maintenance, so whatever is wrong is my onn damn fault. But it adds to the list of things to get done, and as I've mentioned many times, I hate errands and chores. Nothing to be done.
Today is a football/baseball day. Last day of baseball's regular season. It's been an interesting season with its ups and downs. My team will make the playoffs, but the question is how far will they get? Only as far as the bullpen takes them is my guess.
I spent an hour last evening on the phone with a colleague and friend from back in my early teaching days. He's 82 now. I think he's the only longstanding friend I have who's now in his 80s. Time is a very slippery customer. We told old stories and caught up with wives and kids. He's a character, and at 82 he still talks tough but I think he knows he's not the rough customer he used to be.
DW and I also watched two episode of The Studio, which is turning out to be a very funny and well-done show. I found myself last night re-playing both episodes in my head as I tried to get to sleep, which may account for getting up a little later this morning. Oat bran and coffee for breakfast, and some sitting outside in the screen room enjoying a very pleasant morning. Now. a shower, and on with the day.
'Til We Meet Again!
