Hey There!
I missed yesterday. Sorry about that.
I think the reason I missed it is because at first, DW and I were going to go to see Son2's direction of a staged reading. But when we found out what the prices were for a hotel on a Saturday night during a weekend where a major university was having a massive event, we mutually decided to skip it. There will be other projects.
So I had to pivot, and I wrote another post on Sun Day for my front-facing blog on solar power. Then I decided to power wash my porch, front of house, and the walkway down to the sidewalk. When I finished that, I was tired, and I slowly dragged myself through the rest of the day in a physical state of ache and fatigue. It's another episode of how much physical work gets to me these days.
Dinner was very nice - a hamburger cooked on the grill, a salad, and some Bush Beans. Maybe the last grilling of the summer. I enjoyed a Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, my favorite beer, with dinner. Then DW and I decided to watch the final episode of the latest Star Trek:Strange New Worlds series before settling into baseball and YouTube videos. The finale wasn't all that good. But I guess they're producing two more seasons, so I'll look forward to those.
YouTube sort of makes me mad these days, as it seems that more and more the platform is not really aimed at regular people. It seems that the platform is now overrun with people who are making content for other YouTubers to prove they are more of an "expert" in whatever the product is that anyone else. I would love to make a YouTube channel called "The Good Enough" channel, and feature items and ideas that are "good enough" for most people. I have a $10 Walmart Ozark Trail folding knife, and it's good enough. I don't need some person with three kinds of machine sharpeners and spectrometers and density measurers who cuts a bunch of cardboard and paper to prove to me the knife is perhaps not made of D2 steel, or it's an inferior steel at best. For me, it's $10, it cuts an apple and quarters an orange, opens an Amazon box, and is good enough. Get the fuck out with all your fancy measurements. You only want to prove to OTHER YOUTUBERS who make knife or EDC videos that you're super-smart and know more than anyone else. It's a $10 Walmart knife. Go to bed. Get some sleep.
Maybe I need to stop watching YouTube videos. Or at least be more selective.
