Hey There! It's 5:35 PM EDT
Just got finished editing my latest podcast episode. I really didn't have the motivation this morning to get it done, but of course the deadline loomed, so I forced my ass into the chair and buckled down to get it done. It sounds better than I thought it would. I am always glad to have an episode under my belt. A day or two off, and then time to buckle down again and get interviews for the next one scheduled. No rest for the weary.
Yesterday's class went well. I was surprised to learn how well all the members of the class knew each other, as they had taken classes with Son2 before. So I really did not have to spend a lot of time with ice-breaking exercises or anything like that. I was pretty much able to get right into the first lesson. There was a festival going on outside the studio for most of the class, but it didn't interfere too much. I was able to drive there, do the class, and drive back, although the ride back was a little tense with the combination of rain and darkness. I truly hope the weather holds out for the rest of the time, but of course from this point on in the calendar snow can happen just about anytime. Naturally I won't make the drive back in snow - way too nerve-wracking these days for me.
This morning I didn't get up until 9AM, a result of the very late night on Friday and the class and driving yesterday. I went to bed at the usual time of around 11PM, and it was great that the Brewers-Cubs game ended early. Not much drama in that game, as Milwaukee made pretty short work of a listless Chicago team. Now that we're down to the two Championship series, there won't be so much baseball every day. That means I might be getting a little more sleep.
It looks like another week of fabulous weather, although there continues to be a burn bad because of the ongoing drought warnings. I have to go up to my property and get it all squared away this week and next. Camping season is closed in the region's parks, so I usually take that as a sign that camping on my property is also closed. Honestly, I don't mind the cold, and I have heat sources for the place, but these days I seem to subconsciously defer to sleeping in the comforts of my house. It's just another sign of the continuing aging process at work. I think DW and I are planning to get out on Wed. of this coming week for a little fall adventure ride, touring the area, seeing the leaves, and returning home. Maybe we'll stop for some apples, cider, and whatever else my come our way. Too bad these wonderful autumn days don't last as long as summer days.
