Hey There!

It's 8:15 AM EDT, 60°F, Humidity 67%, Wind 3 mph NE, overcast

It's another Sunday of driving, as I am heading once again to Son2's studio to teach. Hopefully I won't hit much rain along the way.

Yesterday consisted of going through my morning routine, and then writing a post for my public blog on a new map app I've been using instead of Google Maps. In the meantime I also tried to assemble a sling bag packout, because I keep forgetting my hearing aids, and hopefully by assembling a daily slingbag for leaving the house, I won't forget them again if they're always in there.

The afternoon was completely taken up with ushering for Live at the Met. It was a presentation of Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, and it was long! The idea to place it in a Coney Island setting in the 1950s was OK, but in the end I thought most of it turned out to be too gimmicky and not very organically used. The collection of circus side show acts became repetitive, and as a chorus they were not too helpful in telling the story.

When I got out at 5 PM, I went home, changed clothes, and went to get the last BBQ hot dog from the local burger shack which is closing for the season today. Delicious, as always. I added a bowl of beef barley soup that DW had cooked for dinner and beyond. Also tasty.

I took in a couple of videos before tuning into the Chicago-Cleveland playoff game. Cleveland won 2-0 on the strength of a Jose Ramirez 2-run home run, and they advance to play Tampay Bay for the AL pennant. It was a good game, although Cleveland made a few mistakes that ultimately did not cost them the win. Cleveland v. Tampa Bay should be an interesting series.

The game went late enough that, after watching some analysis on the MLB Network, it took me right to bedtime at 11:05 PM.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
