Hey There! It's 8:57 AM EST
I'm a little sore this morning. Yesterday was what I hope will be my final day of securing the camp site for the winter. Here's the list of things I got accomplished:
- Got all the trailers covered with tarps and secured down with logs to weight the tarps down. I hope this works.
- Tacked up a few more POSTED signs
- Took all the pictures off the SD cards in the three trail cams and re-loaded them for the winter. Batteries should be OK.
- Got fuel stabilizer into the riding mower.
- Put all the camping boxes and the small power station into the car to bring home. I hope I can do a little re-arranging to bring only one box of gear to AZ.
- Set mouse poison around both cabin and shed. I had to clean out a mouse home from the shed already. I tried to re-arrange a few things in there to give the mice less opportunity to have a comfy winter home.
- Made sure everything was mouse-proof as possible.
The real chore was the tarps on the trailers. I had to carry several logs over that were weighty enough to keep the tarp from flying off and away. That's where the soreness and pain come from.
The rest of the day was spent nursing the sore muscles. DW had a "spare turkey" from last year, and so she cooked that up for dinner, and the leftovers will go to other meals over the holiday weekend. Then I sat on the couch and went down a comedy rabbit hole on YouTube. On the list were Steve Martin, Leigh French, Stephen Wright, Robin Williams, Louis Anderson, George Carlin, and Richard Pryor.
Today I am picking up the groceries for Thanksgiving. Then it's off to Big City to take a friend to see a show. He doesn't drive, and he's at home taking care of his aging mother, so this is a chance for him to get out of the house and have a few hours to do something else.
