Happy Father's Day! Happy Litha! Happy Solstice! Happy Midsummer!
Yesterday was another average day, nothing as exciting as finding a dead animal carcass on your porch (I was kind of expecting one!). I went through my morning routine, and at the end of it, I took the car over to the detailing shop to try and get the cigar odor out of it. It really needed a deep cleaning and shampoo. I still can't get over how a 7-minute ride home after smoking one cigar was capable of lingering in the car so long.
When I got back, I had a little breakfast, and once again spent some time researching replacement players for my rotisserie team. This time I made a couple of decisions and put in for some players. I am desperately clinging to third place, and have been in second place a few times. I'd just like to finish in the money this season, having just missed last season. I checked out a couple of videos - one on Japan and one on some solar information - and in general just tried to retain my energy for the afternoon's project session. I also wrote and posted a one-month "review" on my experiences with my used EV. I've finally come to the realization that I will never be able to charge the EV fully with solar, as the investment in solar panels, batteries, and an inverter is about the same amount of money as I paid for the EV. Not worth it.
At about 12:15 I got the call that the car was done, so I rushed over to pick it up, came back home, packed my gear, and took off right away for the project session. I picked up a chicken salad on crossaint sandwich while the EV charged, and then headed for the day's work. I had to do a publicity video, and then had lunch.
The female lead on this project is not too bright. She is flighty, and she does not pick up new information very well. Nor does she incorporate it quickly. So I am finding myself trying to be patient but, at times, not succeeding. It makes the sessions tedious, boring, and a little frustrating. She's well-meaning, and she's not downright incompetent. Her learning style is simply not intuitive; it's mechanical, and I think that comes out in her eventual results. Makes for a long afternoon.
I got back home by about 7PM, and DW had made a dinner of fried tofu in a peanut sauce with brown rice and broccoli. Not a favorite at all, but I ate it without complaint. Then I sat down to watch the condensed version of the afternoon's ballgame, which we lost badly. I spent the evening watching a video on FIFA, which was quite good! I learned a lot. Then I dove into some content on the Trail 125, watching a couple of videos from a guy who bought the motorcycle apparently to run it into the ground for some odd reason. I finished with a silly video about a collection of women who bought and rode bikes they bought on Facebook Marketplace for under $1K. Rather silly stuff. After cleaning the kitchen, bedtime was 11:10 PM.
'Til We Meet Again!
