It's quite a pleasant morning: cool temps, low humidity, sunshine. I have a road trip scheduled for today, and I couldn't ask for nicer conditions.
Yesterday was another R&R day. I am beginning to feel more like myself, which is good news, only to realize that the upcoming two weeks will be pretty stressful. I am glad at the very least to be going forward in as good a shape as I can.
After my morning routine, it was time to clean the Kia. It didn't take long. I took out all the garbage, all the charge cables and whatnot, left in some snow brushes and other items, and loaded in the ebike I bought for my daughter-in-law's daughter to replace the one that got stolen. Then I vacuumed up the floor and mats. I should have gone through the car wash when I got the windshield wipers, but somehow forgot to do that. I did feel fatigued after the end of all that work, but not exhausted. A good sign.
The rest of the day was taken up with working on the project at home. We've had a few days off and I want to be as prepared as I can be for tomorrow when we get back to work. So I read through everything in small chunks and bits, and then pulled them all together. I am not 100% confident that I am ready to go, but this week will tell the tale. I've done many of these before, but it's clear my physical skills are waning. That is what gives me the most stress.
I broke up the rest of the day and my work sessions with the ball game - another win - some messing around with my public blog (which I am neglecting while working on the project), and catching one or two videos. I grilled a Delmonico steak for dinner and sort of split it with DW. She didn't take quite as much as she might have because she knows I love steak and lets me have more than my share. We had salad and potatoes on the side.
I filled the evening with more work on the project and broke that up with an Asian Boss video on the marriage broker situation in Korea. I also watched a few of their "on the street" interviews with Japanese elders talking about foreigners, and students at Univ. of Tokyo talking about their future prospects as elite students. I am often surprised at the candor and self-awareness of the Japanese. They don't seem to be a culture that kids themselves too much. Around all this I worked a small trade with another owner in my rotisserie baseball league. I got a prospect for a draft pick, which was OK as my farm system is very low. Bedtime was 11:10 PM.
