Hey There! It's 8:20 AM MST, 40°F, Sunny
Yesterday was a little more mellow than Friday. It was still a day that DW spent recovering from her health issues, but we did get a few things done.
I am getting a little more back into my morning routine, making coffee and reading the news. Honestly, I don't dwell much on reading the news, as it's all rather depressing and repetitive. I feel simultaneously helpless and insulated from much of what is happening in the world. I don't particularly like either feeling, but I'm at the age where I believe the responsibility for fixing things lies with younger people. I'm trying to stay out of their way, but from where I sit, it doesn't look like much is being done to remedy things. So I read to be informed, and that's the extent of it.
DW's antibiotic prescription was filled by 11:00, so I took a drive to the pharmacy to pick it up. I also went to the food coop to find some oat bran. My usual brand wasn't stocked, so I picked up something else, failing to notice that they had oat bran stocked in bins. Next time.
I got a little lost trying to get home. I like to get to know a city as best I can as soon as I can, and at this point I can get around SV fairly well, but there are back routes I am still learning. Some roads here tend to dead end at odd places, and I hit one of those on the way home. If you don't take the main state route, you have to do a little weaving here and there.
I spent the early part of the afternoon creating a digital of the evaluation sheet for my projects, then read about two of them before sitting down to watch our football team lose. Another disappointing season. One thing I've learned about coming to AirBnBs is that the furniture is usually uncomfortable, so we travel with zero gravity chairs to try to get our feet up and be more comfortable, mimicking our recliners at home. It works well enough, but you do miss the chairs you have at home.
After the game I made myself some past with a can of clam sauce, while DW made some instant mashed potatoes that were in the cabinet, and threw in some of the leftover chicken. She was very tired after watching the game, so she went back into the bedroom to watch TV and lie down. I stayed in the living area and spent time watching YouTube videos, trying to get to 11PM and get my usual bedtime back in gear. I made it by watching a few long and educational videos. I really want to get my biorhythms back in sync. I think I'm almost there.
Not sure what today will bring, as we're still not quite in the groove of being here. As long as DW remains fatigued I feel I need to be around and help her out, although her martyr tendencies make that difficult to do. I will try to get the playoff games on the TV today, but already I've lost true interest. Football is not my sport, and with our rooting interest gone, the rest is just unengaging. It passes the time.
'Til We Meet Again!
