Hey There! It's 9:22 AM EST, 17°F, cloudy w/light snow.

Today started off with a bang. My daughter-in-law called at 5:45 AM because Son1 was in pain but refusing to go to the emergency room, so I had to talk him into it. He has major teeth issues, and is loathe to go to a dentist despite the condition of his teeth. It seems they shot him up with some pain meds and steroids and sent him home. I suppose I shall find out more as the day wears on. I think it has to do with money. They are not exactly inthe best shape financially, going paycheck-to-paycheck, and he fears the large bills. DW and I will take care of those, but he hates having to rely on us for this. Cost me a little sleep this morning, so I am considering skipping the treadmill. Any excuse!

Yesterday was another typical day at the ranch. I started the day out after morning routine by texting a retired colleague who lives down the block to see if it was a good time to deliver a coconut cake that DW had made for them. It turned out they had errands to run, so they came over here. They stayed for a nice 30-minute visit and we caught up on a few things. It turns out he also had a spare screen door closer, so since mine was broken from the screen door being caught in a gust of wind, he brought that over later, and I popped it in.

I had also decided to test my security cameras to see if they were ready for the winter while we're gone. The one facing the backyard was not working, so I ordered some new batteries for it. I hope that does the trick. Interestingly enough, my porch camera caught the young man who was shoveling my walk and driveway. His name is Sean, and I caught up with him around the corner. I hired him to keep shoveling over the winter while we are gone, and also to cut my lawn for this coming summer. He's much cheaper than my lawn service. So thanks to my cameras, I now have those two chores covered for this year and next.

We had a breakfast of sweet potato pancakes and sausages, and then I buckled in to read more projects. I did that until sunset. Then I took a break before dinner. We had a roasted chicken with baked potato and steamed broccoli. Man, it was good. It felt like an old-fashioned Sunday dinner. It was just missing the dinner roll.

I also took a look at Bear Blog, with the thought of moving over there or possibly double-posting. Or maybe even writing on a different, more focused topic. Obviously I don't get much traffic here, and tbh I haven't been looking for traffic, but Bear Blog seems to have a better-looking interface with choices for design, and that has its attractions. To be continued.

I was going to watch some more cricket, but I decided instead to write a post for my front-facing blog about cricket. I had an hour left after than, so I watched the second session of Day 3 up to the drinks break. Mitchell Starc had a tremendous effort at the crease, scoring I believe 77 runs before being dismissed. The last partnership is currently in the middle, as AUS has only one wicket left. Bedtime was slightly after 11PM.

'Til We Meet Again!
