Hey There! It's 9:55 AM Pacidic Standard Time, 51°F, cloudy/drizzle

I am back in the USA, back with my wife and daughter in the Pacific Northwest. My last few days in Japan were adventurous in a couple of ways.

The first was that the day after I got locked out of the apartment, everyone else but me went on an excursion to Mt. Fuji. On the way back, their bus broke down somewhere along the mountain highway, as the engine caught on fire. They had to be rescued off the side of the road and didn't get back to Tokyo until late in the evening.

The second was that I had an inner ear event where my crystals went out of whack, causing dizziness. Not the first time I've had this. I was trying to read something from my phone while lying sideways in bed and in the course of trying to find a good position to do so, my head turned the wrong way and the crystals went sideways. This happened the night before I had to make the long journey back to the US. All along the journey back I was feeling lightheaded and off balance, using an umbrella as a cane to keep my balance. My travel partner kept an eye on me until we separated in Vancouver. When I got to the hotel, I got in bed and slept for 11 hours. I did a few rounds of the home Epply maneuver to re-position my crystals back in the inner ear, and was feeling much more normal by the time I got back to the ABnB.

I didn't sleep well last night, so I think I am experiencing a tiny bit of jet lag this morning. Just going to sit around and rest until I regain a further sense of normalcy. We are scheduled to leave for home this coming Thursday, and I hope I am well enough by then to re-pack the car and begin driving.

More to come, I hope. Perhaps an overview of the whole trip. I'd like to reflect on it a bit more while I have the downtime to do so.

'Til We Meet Again!
