Hey there!
I've gone back to including the full date in the title because, if I use just the day of the week, the post slug will copy that, and in one week I will have a number of posts with "day of week" as the slug. So back to the old form to insure no confusion.
Anyway, today is a day of rest, a personal Sabbath. My smart watch let me know this, so I am taking its advice. Last night I was sore all night, even after taking a few Advil, so I think today it's best to relax and try to do as little as possible. Writing is a good way to fill some time.
My ball team won, but I have to admit I am past the point of caring. They do not play like a team, but rather like a collection of individuals just seeing what they can do for themselves. They're not really fun to watch. I'm pretty tepid about the rest of the season, so I'll just wait to see at what level they get into the playoffs, and we'll go from there.
DW and I watched the latest episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and next Thursday is the season finale. I am somewhat disappointed in the trajectory of this season, as the fate of Capt. Pike does not seem to hang in the balance. Star Trek history has Capt. Pike as the previous captain of the Enterprise before Jim Kirk takes command, and there have been hints dropped that somehow we'd get closure. But I am not so sure that next week's finale can bring the circle full around. Perhaps there will be another season, and Thursday will be a typical cliff-hanger. This last episode followed the trope of "enemy becomes ally in time of need." It was OK. The Metrons made an appearance at the end, a callback to Kirk's original encounter with the Gorn and the Metrons in TOS. That was cool, but again, it doesn't seem to be leading anywhere. Next week will tell. I followed up watching this episode with watching the pilot of the series The Cage, with Jeffrey Hunter as Christopher Pike. I wonder what Jeffrey Hunter has been thinking all these years watching Star Trek expand as a franchise and realizing he could have cashed in.
Anyway, I have no plans for today other than watch sports. I will watch baseball and probably a football game after that, although I dislike football on the whole. The violence mentality is too much for me. The day looks to be nice, so maybe I'll step out somewhere for a bit or take a short scooter ride in the late afternoon. The week ahead looks fabulous - and busy.
