Hey There! It's 8:09 AM EDT, 69°F, Humidity 64%, Wind 7 mph SW, sunny
Today is supposed to be the best day of the weekend, as the humidity will be lower and the temperature is comfortable, with lots of sun.
After my morning routine, yesterday started with a very early interview for my podcast's mini series. The guy could talk! He was a producer of a well-known sitcom in the early 2000s, but hasn't done much after that. He took up the whole 40 minutes of my alloted Zoom time. Not too many people do that.
After the interview, I got cleaned up and came downstairs to solve once and for all the tweeting issue on my public blog. After a lot of digging, I found a conversation that led to discovering three lines of code that, if I put into my index file, would hide categories. So I studied it all carefully and inserted the code into the file. And it worked first time! So now my public blog shows only longer posts, while my tweets are now in my timeline, and can also be looked at or subscribed to by clicking a "tweet" button. All this work, but I suspect for not much payoff. It you're working on the "small internet", you have to accept the reality that your stuff is not going to be seen. That's OK by me.
Once I had solved this problem, I decided to take my walk. The park in the afternoon is a little bit different than in the morning, and there were a couple of lunchtime picnics taking place. The wind was also quite strong, and the waves were high for a lake. I was concerned I was going to feel chilly in the strong wind, but I was fine in the end.
When I came home I had a protein bar for lunch, which went along with the smoothie DW had made before I left for my walk. Then I had some email exchanges with the commissioner of my rotisserie league, because I discovered that I was above the salary cap, and had to notify him of that. We went back and forth solving the issue, which in the end didn't work out too well for me, but my fault ultimately. Later in the evening I was bailed out when a player of mine was put on the IL, solving my immediate crisis. But I still have some managing to do for the future, so I am hoping to solve my problems with a trade or two this weekend. I sent a text to another owner, who's a bit of a flake, but we shall see how that turns out.
I also found myself watching old Terry Tate: Office Linebacker videos, which were some of the funniest commercials I've ever seen. It was a brilliant ad campaign by, I believe, Nike. If you don't know the series, just google it. Hilarious.
Dinner was leftovers. I had the beef stew with rice, while DW had the vegetables in tomato sauce with rice. After dinner it was a ballgame and some more research on players. We lost. I also did a little Zillow check on a city we might move to in the future. Real estate is incredibly difficult. I've only bought two houses my entire life, this one in 1988. It's nothing like that out there these days, and I am hesitant to jump into that market. I think our final move will probably be renting something instead of buying. Home ownership is really not for me anymore, but as long as I have no mortgage and this house stays in one piece, the incentive to move is minimal.
After kitchen cleanup, bedtime was 11:10 PM.
