Hey There! It's 8:38 AM MST, 51°F, cloudy
As exciting as Thursday was, yesterday was just as dull. It was a recovery day from riding, and as such i did nothing but stay in the house and rest. Good thing too.
As I mentioned yesterday, I really slept in, having gone to bed at 10PM and getting out of bed at 8:30 AM without getting up to pee at all. That's a solid sleep. When I got up I had no energy to make coffee, so I busted out the instant coffee I had picked up at the farmer's market last time we went, and prepared and drank that.
From about that point on it was nothing but sitting in my chair and taking it easy. I was helped by the fact that the opening ceremonies for the Winter Olympics was being broadcast, and DW is something of an Olympics fan, so for 3.5 hours I sat and watched the opening ceremonies. Too long, on my opinion, and while I marveled at some of the technology on display, it was all in all a kind of odd event. The athletes all seem impossibly young. I read later that there were something like 1,500 costumes created for the event, not to mention the winter gear that had been designed for each country's team.
I managed to get the kitchen cleaned up somewhere along the way. I did a bit of internet cruising here and there, especially over to F's channel to watch his videos and pay him back for installing my windshield.
After the ceremonies were over I tried to nap a bit but got a little restless and chilly, so I decided to see how my tracking file from the ride would look on Google Earth. Kind of cool, actually. Looking at the terrain from a bird's eye view really gives you a great look at what you actually rode across.
Dinner was a farrow and bean casserole with rice. After dinner we watched another episode of Star Trek:Academy, which was a tribute to Deep Space Nine, a series I never watched much of. I think this series is beginning to get on my nerves just a bit. It's designed to grab a younger audience, which is fine. You can't expect everything to be geared to you. I hate giving it up because once I start it I want to see how it ends, but I'm not too thrilled about where it's going.
I managed to get an interview scheduled for later this morning as well for my podcast. I'm getting a little tired of having to chase down people for 30 minutes of their time to be on the podcast. I am still waiting this weekend for the last candidate to get in touch with me. A pain in the ass. Bedtime was 11PM.
'Til We Meet Again!
