Hey There! It's 8:59 PM MST, 64°F, clear

Made the journey today from SV to Flagstaff AZ, with a stop in Phoenix to once again visit old friends, whose daughter was visiting them and asked if it was possible for us to stop in and see her. So we did.

Packing the car was its usual nightmare, as it appears we have more stuff now than when we came. Isn't that always the feeling? The landlady came over to gift us a final loaf of sourdough bread and say goodbye. We were on the road by 9 AM.

Lunch was fun, and the conversation was lively, mostly about the good old days. Another couple we knew from those days and place came by to say hi as well. We left about 2:30 to head north.

The temperature change and the scenery change are both stunning. We are now pretty much in pine forest, with all traces of the desert practically gone. We saw the temperature drop about 30° as we gained elevation to 7000'. I watched the semifinal of the WBC between Venezuela and Italy, which VEN won. They will play the USA tomorrow in the final.

DW seems to feel much better now that we've actually left. The temperature is comfortable, the room is nice, and she received some encouraging information from her cardiologist's nurse via portal message. So hopefully from this point on she will calm down a bit.

We hit the Grand Canyon tomorrow. I have a feeling that posts will be in the evening as we travel. I prefer the morning, as I;m less likely to forget, but getting up and getting out is going to be the main focus of the morning hours rather than reading news and sipping coffee. So it goes.
