Yesterday was sort of relax/recovery day, with little excitement. The morning started off with my morning routine, and then more or less faded into the afternoon as I sat on the couch just getting my legs and body to recover from Saturday's efforts. I had a nice breakfast with DW of French toast and sausage. Then eventually I got myself cleaned up and headed out to the Juneteenth Festival to portray Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger, the Texas general who read General Order #3 and proclaimed the last of the slaves in Texas to be free.
I've done this gig for I think four years now, but the last two years I've been astride a horse. The owner leads the horse to the spot, I read the proclamation, and then I leave. I get a free rib dinner as a thank you. Unfortunately, this year I got rained on a little bit, and after I got out of costume the rains came heavy. The rest of the festival had to be shut down due to the rain.
When I got home I listened to the baseball game - another good win - and also watched the Netherlands/Japan soccer match, which was a draw. DW had bourbon chicken for dinner, and then in the evening I reverted back to YouTube videos, an Asian Boss video and some of my Woodzman videos from AZ. Not a terribly active day, but a little bit of recovery always helps. I cleaned the kitchen and was in bed by 11:10 PM.
Today starts my next big project. Not really looking forward to it, but it was something I committed to a while back. I'm going to use the EV for commuting and see how that works out.
'Til We Meet Again!
