Looks like another heat wave on the way, as I see heat advisories in the forecast for tomorrow. I think we're getting to the point where rain might be welcome.
What a day yesterday was. The plan was to transfer my Kia to Son1 and being his wife's daughter back to him. The daughter arrived on time, and so about 10:15 we packed up and headed out.
About an hour into it, we stopped for gas. Upon getting onto the interstate, all of a sudden a number of lights came on in the dashboard - ABS, ESC, hill climbing, and traction control. I pulled off at the next exit, and looked up all the codes. I believe what has happened is that one of the calipers or some other mechanism in the newly replaced brake system is hanging up or got caught somehow. We could smell that overheating brake smell.
After some consultation we decided to drive back home and switch cars. I would bring the daughter to Son1 at a halfway location and he would bring her back home, but we would not be switching cars. I have to bring the car back into where the brakes were done and get this fixed. So that's what we did. The day equated to 8 hours of driving around the state. I did listen to the ball game on the radio; the team got a sweep. It's All Star Break for much of this coming week.
I got home about 6:45 PM. DW had taken the first drive with us, but not the second. Chicken meatballs and pasta in sauce was dinner. I was pretty beat from all the driving, so I just plopped on the couch and passed the time on YouTube. Towards the end I watched two episodes of the 1950s TV drama Peter Gunn. Very cool. Bedtime was 10:50 PM.
That was really it. Not much happened, but a lot of wasted time was spent driving, and in the end the purpose was not achieved. I'll have to wait now until the project is over to try again. Not ideal.
