Hey there! It's 9:47 AM MST, 58°F, sunny

What can one really say about yesterday? It was Super Bowl Sunday. I am not one to get excited about the Superbowl, but DW and I did watch it.

We started off the day with the Olympics, however. We watched the team figure skating event. I do enjoy the beauty of figure skating, but it's not something I would ever follow seriously. The glamor and drama aspect of it leaves me cold. But you have to admit that what they accomplish on the ice is highly athletic and aesthetically pleasing.

We then turned to luge, which is a sport where competitors lie on their backs on a sled and go whistling down an ice-filled chute at speeds above 75 MPH, faster than I drive on the interstate. There seems to be some minor controls at their feet, but I have no understanding of how they work to control the sled. The speeds are really incredible.

There was a small break once luge was over, and we parked ourselves for the Super Bowl at 4:30 PM MST. Our MO is to avoid everything but the game, so we never turn on the TV until 15 minutes before kickoff, and then mute the TV until kickoff. The time zone allowed us to eat at halftime; we never take in the halftime show. The game itself was rather an interesting affair from the point of view of the defenses, and some of the defensive schemes that Seattle threw at New England went completely unanswered. It was an all-out full court press by the Seahawk defense against an inexperienced QB, and it was effective. It wasn't exciting, but it was interesting from that perspective. I had the Seahawks going in, but I was very mistrustful of Sam Darnold. Fortunately, he did the one thing he had to do - make no mistakes. Not the most exciting Superbowl I've ever seen, but maybe the most interesting.

After the game it was just more relaxing with Sidetrack Adventures videos, and then bed at the usual 11 PM time. I am beginning to think that I need to reset my biological clock to wake up earlier and go to bed earlier. I feel I get more done in the morning than in the evening, and if all I am going to do is watch YouTube videos at night, perhaps it's best to shift those hours to the day when I could get more done, having more energy.

'Til We Meet Again!
