I can't spend too much time with you this morning, as I have to get on the road to get to an audiology appointment two hours away, and it looks like a rainy drive this morning. Gonna suck a bit.
Yesterday was a day where I had nothing particularly planned, but the weather made some decisions for me - no bike ride, and no sitting up on the campsite. The rain rather forced me into a sedentary day at home.
After my morning routine, I went shopping for supplies for my upcoming colonoscopy. It used to be that they gave you a solution to drink and you were done with it. Now, you have to go out and buy everything yourself, so the insurance companies don't have to pay for it. I won't go into details about the supplies, but let's just say that having to buy more stuff than you need to get the right amount of ingredients is ridiculous. I was pretty frustrated after that trip, but I have what I need - and then some.
Then I took the laptop I had brought from the land and took it apart to see what was going on inside. It's a beautiful machine, but after giving it some thought I remain unsure what to do with it. The screen remains bright, but the battery is mostly dead. It can be replaced, however. The 120GB drive is the star feature of the machine, but it was once a Chromebook, and only Lonux can go on it. I thought of putting that drive into one of the miniPCs I have, and I may yet try that. No conclusions on a path forward just yet.
DW made some mac and cheese, and I had that for lunch with a smoothie. Then I tuned into the baseball game. Another good win, and a major step forward in the standings.
After the game I watched a long Sidetrack Adventure video. DW was napping, and she woke up around 5 PM. She started dinner while I caught up on a couple of other blogs I maintain. Dinner ended up to be a chicken sausage skillet dish, with potatoes and vegetables. An excellent dinner, which I topped off with a fresh ear of sweet corn. The sweet corn season is just about over.
In the evening we watched an episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. We were behind two episodes, and this was the puppet one. Not a very good episode - too gimmicky for my tastes. Then we watched the NY Heights lose in dramatic fashion to the SF Firebells in a walk-off win for the Firebells. It was a heartbreaking loss, as the Heights were winning all the way and went into the botton of the 7th with a large lead, But the closer had nothing, and SF walked it off with a walkoff home run from their first baseman. Absolutely heartbreaking. DW was really depressed after that happened.
I did my laundry during the game, so I finished up the laundry, cleaned up the kitchen, and also finished up the blog work, getting to bed by about 11:05 PM.
