Hey There!

It's 10:21 AM EDT, 75°F, Humidity 85%, Wind 11 mph N, overcast, AQI 23

Yesterday was Day 2 for Son2's visit. My morning routine included making enough coffee for everyone, and a little less of being able to scan headlines and such. I was lucky to get in my post for yesterday.

Once everyone was up we set about making breakfast sandwiches. We had a nice breakfast out on the porch and discussed a little more about houses. Hopefully he can find a small house for himself and we can go there a few years later. That would be ideal.

Son2 basically captured the living room all day, turning on the TV and watching a couple of movies, He finished to one he was watching the night before, and then turned on Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri. I watched a bit of it, but TV watching in the middle of the day is not my style. So I elected to leave the room and work on my rotisserie team.

They were still watching the movie when the ball game came on. So I tuned in via SiriusXM and went out on the porch to listen. Son2 likes it cold, so he had the AC cranked in the living room, which to me was quite cold. After their movie was over I had the opportunity to put the game on the TV, and did so, but kept the radio on to listen as the girlfriend was asleep on the couch. We won in the 10th inning, a rare extra-inning win.

Dinner was quite early at about 4:30 PM. We had chicken Parmesan with pasta, one of Son2's favorite dishes. We ate early so they could have dinner with us before heading home. We also had creme brule for dessert, something we were all looking forward to. Everyone agreed it was just a little thin, but still delicious.

They packed up and left about 6:30, and DW and I were left to get through the evening. There's always that little space in time when having them there seems so natural and normal, and when they leave, the house becomes empty once again. it's always an adjustment. We took in the next episode of Ted Lasso, which was OK, but I have a sense that this season may be striving a bit too much of a topical season. We'll take it as it goes.

After that I can only say I wasted time on YouTube for the rest of the evening with the usual fare: camping and motorcycles. Bedtime came around 11;15 PM. I left the kitchen for this morning.

Notable deaths: Tommy John, Major League Baseball pitcher with 288 career wins, whose elbow reconstruction surgery in 1974 was eventually named for him, 83.

Happy Birthday Annie. Love always, Tommy.

That's all for now. 'Til We Meet Again!
